Blizzard has confirmed thatOverwatch 2Season 2 will be nerfing Sojourn, making big changes to Doomfist, and addressing various other heroes on the roster.Overwatch 2Season 2 is scheduled to begin on December 6, at which point players will be treated to new Tank hero Ramattra, the new Shambali Monastery map, and a set of new skins themed after Greek mythology.
Overwatch 2Season 2 will have its own Battle Pass for players to complete, and that will serve as the primary way to unlock Ramattra as a playable character. LikeSupport hero Kirikobefore him, Ramattra will be available as part of Tier 55 in the Battle Pass for free players. Alternatively, players can choose to buy the premium Battle Pass and unlock access to Ramattra right away. The decision to lock new heroes behind the Battle Pass has continued to prove controversial in the community, but it doesn’t look like Blizzard is changing the practice any time soon.

But while Blizzard may not be addressing this specific criticism withOverwatch 2Season 2, it will be adjusting some heroes based on fan feedback. Blizzard has confirmed thatnew Damage hero Sojourn is getting a nerfas part of Season 2. Specifically, Blizzard will be looking at dialing back the power of Sojourn’s Rail Gun at a long distance so it should be more difficult for players to effectively use her as a sniper. Instead, players will be encouraged to use Sojourn’s Rail Gun while playing somewhat closer to enemies to maximize her damage output.
ManyOverwatch 2fans have been calling for a Sojourn nerf since the game’s early access launch.Tank hero Doomfist, meanwhile, has been the subject of much scrutiny as well, with fans calling for a buff for the hero as he is arguably the weakest Tank on the roster right now. Blizzard has promised that “significant changes” are on the way for Doomfist to help him better fit in the Tank role without messing with his “Hero identity,” but specifics on those changes are unavailable at the time of this writing.
Sojourn and Doomfist may be receiving the most attention when it comes toOverwatch 2Season 2 balance changes, but other heroes are being addressed as well. Blizzard has said that fans can expect “adjustments” to Ana, Bastion, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Mercy, and Symmetra, but it did not elaborate on which of these heroes will be buffed and which ones will be nerfed. Fans should find out more information when Blizzard releases theOverwatch 2Season 2update patch notes.
Overwatch 2is available now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
