During a game ofOverwatch 2, one gamer outsmarts the enemy team by using Symmetra’s Teleporter while playing as D.Va. While there are a variety of tanks inOverwatch2for players to choose from, D.Va is one of the most powerful. Among her abilities, Self-Destruct can be one of the most devastating Ultimates in the entire game.

While Self-Destruct can be powerful, it can be challenging to use effectively inOverwatch 2, especially at higher ranks, since enemies can often find cover before it detonates. With this in mind, D.Va players often have to use the element of surprise to catch opposing players off guard before using it. Recently, a gamer did just that by comboing the Ultimate withSymmetra’s Teleporter inOverwatch 2.

This impressive highlight, pulled off by a gamer known as Helios, took place on Circuit Royal, one of the newmaps inOverwatch 2. Specifically, this highlight took place near the first checkpoint. It should be noted that the attacking team must move the payload along a steeply inclined road close to this first checkpoint on the map. During games, the area at the top of this hill is often a favorite spot for snipers, such as Widowmaker and Ashe. Unsurprisingly, the defending team attempted to utilize this high ground during this clip. However, this D.Va player had other ideas.

In the video, Helios activated D.Va’s Self-Destruct, but instead of launching the mech toward the enemy team, they left it on the street. While this might have seemed like a blunder, it soon turned out to be a genius move, as Symmetra placed a Teleporter underneath the mech. She then positioned the other end of the portal on top of the incline next to the enemy team. Suddenly, the self-destructing mech was teleported to the high ground, where it detonated before the opposing team had time to react, eliminating all five players.

When posting the clip to Reddit, the gamer said, “The other team had ZERO clue.” Unsurprisingly, this play-of-the-game highlight has caught the attention of manyOverwatch 2gamerson the subreddit, with a number of comments noting that they did not know that the mech could be teleported when self-destructing. The clip even caused Blizz_AndyB, a Community Manager at Blizzard, to respond, saying, “late to the thread, but ummmmmm….. TIL.”

While this D.Va bomb play using Symmetra’s Teleporter was impressive, it is not the only clever strategy gamers have used. In fact, many of the 35 heroes in the team-based hero shooter can benefit from the Teleporter to add an element of surprise to their Ultimate usage. For example, oneOrisa player teleported into the middle of an enemy teamwhile using their Terra Surge Ultimate. As these types of clips show, players would be well served to expect the unexpected when playing games inOverwatch 2.

Overwatch 2is available in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
