However, Roger believed that if he had a son, he would be the one to fulfill the will. Ace had everything in store to be the man to carry out the promise. He had the D name and a powerful Devil Fruit, as well as the will to rise to the very top. Had this Devil Fruit found its way to him, he would then succeed his father in doing what he couldn’t. This would have been poetic and certainly fun for the fans to experience.
