CyberConnect 2 is clearly a busy beaver. Not only did thenewDemon Slayergamecome out in October 2021, but the company issued quite a few updates for the new year. First off is a new game announcement in February, with many believing that it is set to launch this summer. Secondly, CyberConnect2 confirmedDragon Ball Xenoverse 2will continue its DLC run in 2022, and thirdly, there was a special message regardingDragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

Of all of this, perhaps the latter is the most mysterious. The new game could be anything, with many fans clamoring for a newNarutogame or a legitimateDragon Ball Supergame, but the exact wording of theDragon Ball Z: Kakarotmessage seemingly implies that new DLC or something more is coming.

The release ofDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s Trunks DLCwas touted as the last DLC for the game, that’s true, but wording from Producer Hashino (as highlighted by YouTuber Dmgaming) in the aforementioned special message could imply otherwise. Producer Hashino comments that 2021 saw the release of the “Third DLC,” that everyone on the team will be “giving it their all again this year,” and that hopes fans will join him “for a great 2022 with Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.”

These may be small distinctions and it cannot be ignored that something could be lost in translation, but third DLC does not mean final DLC. Furthermore, the only real content known to be in development forDragon Ball Z: Kakarotis the Switch version’s Card Warriorsand that doesn’t really back up the “giving it their all” statement. Hashino also emphasizesDBZ: Kakarotat the end, suggesting the team is working on new content for the game. Arguably, the most logical deduction is more DLC, perhaps in the form ofDragon Ball Supercontent orDragon Ballmovies content.

In short, there definitely seems to be more content in the works forDragon Ball Z: Kakarotthis year, but Dmgaming’s analysis of the situation goes a step further. He points out that theDBZ: Kakarotproducer doesn’t name DLC, while theXenoverse 2producer does. It could be because the former has supposedly already had its “final” DLC, while more forXenoverse 2is no surprise. Or, it could mean something bigger than just another DLC is in the works.

It’s tinfoil hat territory, but this could mean aDragon Ball Supersequel toKakarotis in the works, which could connect dots with the new game announcement though Hashino name dropsDBZ: Kakarotspecifically. Steam files could suggest that it’s not just one DLC, but a completelynew Season Pass forDragon Ball Z: Kakarot. It could even be true-to-form PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game. There are quite a few possibilities, but at the end of the day, it seemsDragon Ball Zfans could be eating good in 2022.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotis available for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
