Mt. Lady is a hard-to-miss character in theMy Hero Academiaseries and is well known for her gigantification quirk that lets her grow to gigantic proportions. Mt. Lady is also known by her real name, Yu Takeyama.
According to the Hero Billboard chart, Mt. Lady is ranked as the No.23 Pro Hero, who uses their hero license to protect innocent civilians from villains or any kind of threat to society. A bombshell in the eyes of many, Mt. Lady is one of those heroes, fans can’t get enough of and her powerful quirk makes her a force to be reckoned with.

Mount Lady’s Quirk Perfectly Matches Her Personality
In the world of My Hero Academia, there have only been 3 characters so far that have the ability to gigantify themselves. One of these characters is The Giant Villain, a low-rank villain who was defeated and captured by Mt. Lady. The second is Gigantomachia, anextremely formidable giant villainwho is part of the League of Villains and is known to be one of All For One’s faithful servants and finally, but not least, is Mt. Lady. Mt. Lady’s quirk, gigantification, gives her the ability to grow from her regular height of 5 feet 4 inches to a supermassive height of 67 feet and 8 inches, making her tower over most buildings. Her giant form also enables her to land extremely powerful attacks.
This is seen when she lands one of her signature kicks known as Canyon Cannon on The Giant Villain, knocking him out cold. Canyon Cannon is known to be a powerful flying kick that is capable of knocking out any enemy of large stature. Mt. Lady’s kicking power does not just stop there as she was also able to destroy All For One’s Nomu factory with a swift axe kick.
Thanks to her quirk, Mt. Lady can do things other heroes would not be capable of doing, such as going head-to-head with Geten otherwise known as Iceman, a powerful villain and member of the Meta Liberation Army. She was also able to slow down Gigantomachia by latching onto him, as he caused havoc and rampaged through the woods. Another advantage to her immense height is that italso comes with enhanced durability. She was able to withstand a powerful Air canon attack from All For One and was also able to protect civilians from falling debris. One of her other advantages of her gigantification quirk is that she is easily able to fight off smaller enemies or take on enemies of equal size. The extra mass gives her the ability to use powerful attacks and moves while holding her ground.

Mt. Lady Has a Great Understanding of How to Use Her Quirk
Her selfless nature also works perfectly with her quirk as she is also seen putting herself in harm’s way to protect U.A. High students from villains. This is seen when she uses her other signature move, known as Titan Cliff. This maneuver allows her to grow fast enough to intercept an enemy and headbutt them. She was able to use Titan Cliff to prevent Mr. Compress from reaching and attacking students, but in doing so, she was knocked unconscious. Apart from her quirk, although her tactical abilities might not be on par with some of her peers,she was still able to observeand provide assistance to her comrades in battle. She can assess the situation and take initiative without a second thought.

Mt. Lady is someone who loves her attention, she also does not mind stealing the limelight from other heroes and uses it to gain more popularity. She is also able to use her appearance and popularity to get what she wants and does not feel shame in doing so. This is seen when she is able to convince a vendor to give her free food just by using her vanity. While this is not a physical weakness, it does affect her image among other heroes. One of the main drawbacks ofusing the gigantification quirkis that she is unable to choose the height to which she wants to grow. She can either stay at her normal height or grow to her tallest height.
This can be a drawback if certain missions or battles require her to grow to a certain height to execute a plan. It is also seen that Mt. Lady does not have a firm grasp on her powers, she is prone to accidentally gigantify herself if she is caught by surprise. Another disadvantage of her quirk is that, because her gigantification quirk makes her huge, there are instances in which she could cause unintentional damage tobuildings surrounding her duringbattles with enemies, resulting in her having to pay for the repairs. This tends to be a cyclic process as it is most of the time the case when she battles enemies within the city limits.
