Marvel Studios has been on an absolute roll this year. With the smashing success of its Disney Plus seriesWandaVisionand a packed 2021 line-up of highly-anticipated film and television releases, it doesn’t look like the studio will be slowing down any time soon. In fact, their success has been so tremendous lately that the projects they still have in development are already being projected for multiple-season runs, includingMs. Marvel.
Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, was on the set ofMs. Marvelwhen he addressed the idea of second seasons to the Television Critics Association. He began withWandaVision, stating that there’s a chance it could still go on to a second season even though the limited series was always intended as asegue into theDoctor Strangesequel. He said the same forMs. Marvel, saying that a second season is possible after the titular heroine crosses over into theCaptain Marvelsequel.

Additionally,She-HulkandMoon Knight, which starTatiana Maslany as Jennifer Waltersand Ethan Hawke respectively, are currently being developed with a structure that could allow for multiple seasons. Feige says that any follow-ups to these shows will ultimately depend on how each story plays out, as well as whether or not there is a demand to see those tales continue. “We are developing all of these shows the way we’re developing our movies,” says Feige. “In other words, when we start with a movie, we hope there’s a part two, we hope there’s a part three.”
Disney’s recent acquisitions of Marvel properties also opens up a plethora of opportunities for MCU crossovers. Aside from the Disney/Fox merger, which brought home theX-MenandFantastic Fourfranchises, the company has also managed toreobtain the rights toThe Defendersfrom Netflix, which will allow them to use characters such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher, and Iron Fist.
In fact, they may have already done so—one of the most buzzed-about theories at the moment is that Matt Murdock/Daredevil could appear inSpider-Man: No Way Homealongside Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. The nextSpider-Manfilm, which releases in theatres this Christmas, is expected to continue the multiverse storylines dominating each of Marvel’s latest projects, meaning MCU crossovers such as this one are more than feasible.
Actress Iman Vellani, who portrays the titular heroine ofMs. Marvel, is not the only newcomer to the MCU who will be leaping from television to the big screen. Teyonah Parris, who made her first appearance as Monica Rambeau inWandaVision, will join Vellani opposite Brie Larson in directorNia DaCosta’sCaptain Marvel 2as well.
Ms. Marvel,She-Hulk, andMoon Knightare all currently in the works at Marvel Studios.
