EvenMortal Kombat 11is feeling the holiday cheer, as NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive today announced an in-game seasonal winter event. But while most games only offer one holiday-themed activity, NetherRealm is splitting the season into two different events, including the Winter Wonderland event for Christmas and the ‘Ring in the Near Year’ event. Both are Tower events withinMortal Kombat 11’s Towers of Time Mode and are entirely free.

The Winter Wonderland Tower event runs from December 22-27 and will offer players 3 differentholiday Towersto fight through, each with so-called “holiday-themed  modifiers.” According to NetherRealm, these modifiers will include falling Killer Kanes, Sledding Tarkatans, Parachuting Ginger Deadmen, Exploding Snowmen, Christmas Trees, Menorahs, Dreidels, and Shooting Stars.

Ring in the New Year will follow on December 28 and last until January 2 with modifiers that include a Disco Ball, Champagne Bottles, Party Poppers, Fireworks, and also a Digitial Countdown Clock. Hopefully, NetherRealm is having some creating unique festive Tower modifiers forMortal Kombat 11playersto test their might against during their holiday breaks.

Exact rewards for completing the holiday Towers aren’t provided, so players will have to discover them for themselves. However, NetherRealm did list several possible rewards that players can win while doing the holiday trials. Fighters will be able to earncharacter skins, player module pieces, holiday-specific konsumables, as well as other in-game rewards.

As part of its winter holiday announcement, NetherRealm also took the opportunity to remind players about the currentMortal Kombat 11competitive season. Season 6, also known as the Season of Konquest, is ongoing and will end on January 7.

Players who actively compete in theKombat Leaguecan earn significant rewards, not just including a significant amount of Time Krystals, but also Koins, Souls, Hearts, gear, and skins. The Kombat League isn’t related to the holiday, but it does end around the same time, making it a great opportunity forMortal Kombat 11players on winter break to get in some matches.
