Summary
For the most part,Mortal Kombat 1has been knocking it out of the park when it comes to its DLC guest fighters. Though Ermac and Quan Chi aren’t the most exciting additions to the roster, Peacemaker and Omni-Man have been thrilling inclusions that look, sound, and feel incredibly authentic to their respective source material. From basic attacks to special moves and, of course, fatalities, all ofMortal Kombat 1’s DLC guest fighters behave exactly how fans would expect, and that bodes very well for Homelander.
Set to release sometime in the Spring,The Boys' tyrannical super-powered Homelander will be the penultimate addition toMortal Kombat 1’s first Kombat Pack, and from the look of the recently released teaser trailer, it seems as though the wait for Homelander will have been worth it. Despite only being 45 seconds long, theMortal Kombat 1Homelander first look trailer ticks a swathe of boxes for fans, teasing a moveset ripped straight out of the Amazon show, including two ridiculously gory Fatalities.

Only a few short snippets of each of Homelander’s Fatalities were shown in the character’s first teaser trailer, meaning that these Fatalities could change before release. The official names of these Fatalities aren’t known yet, either.
Homelander’s Mortal Kombat 1 Fatalities Explained
Homelander’s Laser Eye Surgery Fatality
The first Homelander Fatality that fans get a sneak peek of inthe latestMortal Kombat 1DLC trailerinvolves the villain’s powerful laser vision, which essentially acts as the character’s main method of attack inThe Boys’live-action show. After a bit of exasperated vocal sparring between Homelander and Liu Kang, the trailer suddenly cuts to the final moments of their fight, with Homelander firing his lasers directly into Liu Kang’s eyes.
As the camera pans around, Liu Kang’s face - at least the remnants of it - is revealed, a huge gaping hole now present where his eyes used to be. As Liu Kang screams, the camera pans to the back of his head, just in time for it to burst open, revealing a grinning Homelander.
For fans ofThe BoysAmazon show, this Fatality is going to look very familiar, with it bearing a striking resemblance to Madelyn Stillwell’s death in the show’s first season. In this grizzly scene, Homelander firmly grasps Madelyn’s head and proceeds to fire his laser vision into her eyes, leaving two holes, and a severely charred face.
Homelander’s Aviation Assault Fatality
The second Fatality teased inMortal Kombat 1’s Homelander trailersees the supervillain uppercut Liu Kang absurdly high into the sky, where the Fire God lingers for just a few seconds before being mown down by a huge jet airliner. This Fatality could be referencing a few different scenes fromThe Boys, as Homelander doesn’t have the best track record with aircraft.
The most likely source of inspiration for this Fatality is the brutal scene in season 1 ofThe Boysthat sees Homelander and Queen Maeve abandon a passenger plane after realizing they probably can’t land it safely, thus dooming all 100+ civilians on board. The second scene that thisMortal Kombat 1Fatalitycould be referencing is the assassination of the Mayor of Baltimore, also found in season 1, where Homelander flies alongside the Mayor’s private jet before using his laser vision to tear it in half.
