Shutdown isa mini-game withinMonopoly Gowhere players can attack random opponents or friends’ properties in exchange for cash. By default, the game randomly selects your Shutdown opponent. Nevertheless, there is an option for you to customize your target, allowing you to either aim at specific players or spare the possessions of your chosen target by opting to bulldoze another player’s city—again, randomly selected if you prefer. How to Attack Another Opponent in the Shutdown Mini-Game
After landing on a Railroad Tile and initiating a Shutdown, tap the “Switch Opponent” button at the bottom of the screen. Here, you can select “Random Player” under the Revenge tab to look for another enemy.
Changing the opponent helps you scout better targets. If you manage to destroy anenemy who has no shields, you receive bigger prizes.
Increaseyour Dice Multiplierbefore the Shutdown, so you receive even better rewards.
How to Attack Friends in a Shutdown
To change your opponent in the Shutdown menu, click “Switch Opponent” and navigate to the “Friends” tab. Here, select a friend’s board and attack their properties to earn rewards. Note that your friend will receive a notification about the attack and has the option to retaliate in their next Shutdown.
To protect yourself against friends’ revenge, equip at least one Shield before leaving the game.
How to Take Revenge on Shutdown Attackers
Instead of randomly attacking a player, you have the option to seek revenge for Shutdowns on your properties. To do this, tap “Switch Opponent” and go to the “Revenge” tab. From there, select one of your recent attackers. Keep in mind that you’re able to only take revenge on one player at a time, so it’s advisable to choose the earliest intruder for optimal retaliation.
How to Know Who Has Attacked You
Every day, you receive a Board Report detailing the players who have attacked you. In case you miss the report, you can access the information in the Friends section by tapping on Timeline. Here, you’ll find a summary ofrecent Board events, including a list of intruders who have targeted your Landmarks.
You cannot attack anyone—even players who show up on your timeline—unless you get a Shutdown ticket. (The ticket is earned once you land on a Railroad Tile.)
