Personality

Dimple is a simple yet funny spirit. He aspires to be worshiped by humanity, hence why he created to LOL cult. On the other hand, Dimple doesn’t blink an eye to throw himself into trouble for Mob. This could be due to the fact that Dimple wants to possess Mob originally, but his motives change throughout the series. He’s enamored with Mob’s power.

Powers

Dimple has a wide range of powers depending on his current “physical” state. For example, at full power,Dimple can hypnotize large groups of people, but at his power level throughout most of the series, he can barely possess someone. In the current season, more powers have been revealed, but due to spoiler reasons, this article won’t be going over them. A few of Dimples cool powers are listed below.

Possession

Dimple can possess various people, but he has a harder time with people who are espers. He can possess anyone who’s unconscious, but sometimes needs permission to enter someone’s body such as when he convinces Ritsu to let him possess him, but soon after gets ejected with Ritsu doesn’t want him there anymore. Dimple has also possessed Mob while unconscious to protect him.

Hypnosis

Dimple, at full power, is able to hypnotize many people at once with ease. This is seen mostly in the LOL Arc with his cult in which he convinced all of them to be happy. During this time he was also able to hex other objects to extend his powers.

Psychic Abilities

When at full power Dimple can fire laser beams, use smoke screens, and do other various “evil spirit” type things. He can also move objects toward himself, which is dubbed the “Poltergeist Phenomenon” in the anime.

Relationships

Ritsu

Dimple’srelationship with Ritsu is interesting. Ritsu can see Dimple, however he originally thought he was a “creepy looking balloon.” Once Dimple is in their house, Ritsu attempts to “exorcize” Dimple by beating his face in physically. Dimple points out that Ritsu must have psychic powers due to the fact that he can see him. Originally, Ritsu is terrified to use Psychic Powers, potentially because he’s afraid to turn out like Mob, stating it is “way out of his league.” Dimple then points out that he can help Ritsu control his powers if he lets Dimple possess him. Dimple, much to his own dismay, is able to possess Ritsu but not able to control him.

Mob

Dimple’s relationship with Mob starts as a “good vs. evil” type relationship due to Dimple trying to control the masses and become a god through the LOL Cult. Mob and two other people are brought to this cult, but Mob’s lack of emotions and strong psychic powers prevent him from being controlled by the hex Dimple tries to use on him. This results in Dimple pushing Mob to 100% rage where he loses control and ends up fighting the cult members, who Dimple ordered to attack him. Mob wins the fight and exorcizes Dimple, who actually appears in Mob’s bedroom later the next day. When Reigen insists that Dimple must be a low level spiritbecause he can’t see him, Mob decides it’s alright to keep Dimple around. Dimple not only goes on to help Mob physically in battles, but he also tries to give him advice about life in general since Mob is emotionally and socially stunted. Soon enough, they become incredibly close friends.

While Dimple isn’t even human,he’s a relatable character. He runs away when he doesn’t think he can’t handle something such as when he flies off after Ritsu goes into an esper powered rampage. He’s a funny guy and mostly looks out for himself even though he does help other characters occasionally. Fans will see more of Dimple in Mob Psycho 100 Season 3, which is currently on Crunchyroll.
