Minecraft Dungeons’Howling Peaks DLC was announced back in Octoberand promised a slew of new content forMinecraft’s own answer to theDiabloformula. The website post provides some of the interesting tidbits of what players can expect in a whole new looting adventure. The core premise of the DLC is that players will be tasked with reaching the top of the mountain to face a considerable foe. Atop the frozen peak is the Tempest Golem which has faced corruption due to the Orb of Dominance.

As with the other DLC packs, Howling Peaks will introduce new content for theMinecraftspin-off. Much likeMinecraft Dungeonsfirst DLC pack Jungle Awakensand its follow up Creeping Winter, Howling Peaks will get new items in all major categories. The website notes that “dazzling” new armor, weapons, and artifacts will be introduced alongside new enemies to take down. The post only mentions the new Squall Golem and Mountaineer enemies, but there are definitely more ready to block the path to the top. Those not looking for a mountain adventure will still get six free enchantments which the website notes will “change the way you play the game.”

Alongside the release date and additional information on Howling Peaks, the post on the officialMinecraftwebsite also explained what is coming next for the title.Minecraft Dungeonswill be getting four entirely new DLC packs coming to the game in the future. All of these will be available for purchase in one bundle which will be the Season Pass. Players who buy the Season Pass will get access to all future DLC content as well as the upcoming Howling Peaks. No price was announced for the Season Pass but it will be available alongside Howling Peaks come December 9. The post does confirm that the game will still get free content even without the season pass likeMinecraft Dungeons' recent Cross-play update.

WithMinecraft Dungeonssticking around for the foreseeable future, there are players wondering if the blocky loot hunter will be getting a next-gen upgrade. WhileMinecraft Dungeonswill be playable on both Xbox Series consoles andPlayStation 5 due to backwards compatibility, fans are hoping the game will eventually get to utilize the considerable hardware boost as well.

Minecraft Dungeonsis available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
