The nextHalloweeninstallment is due to come out this year, in October of course. Because of the long wait, mostly to do with the global pandemic, fans are getting impatient and the hype is growing with any new images or promotional material released. The latest one to come out certainly sets a very specific tone and could be hinting at what viewers should expect inHalloween Kills.
Released by Blumhouse and shared by Empire Magazine via Twitter, the image shows the ever-popularvillain of the series: Michael Myers. He’s wearing his infamous mask, which looks much more dirty, worn, and battered than the original stark white and latex-looking version. The killer also carries his signature weapon, a big knife, which is covered in blood.

The image is revealing a lot about what the villain will be looking like in the upcomingHalloween Kills, which some fans will enjoy and some won’t. It also could potentially be alluding to what kind of tone to expect from the movie. It seems a little dark and dirty, and very scary, and could be telling audiences to prepare for some real violence. 2018’sHalloween, which this is to be a sequel to, also carried this kind of tone while alsofeeling like a very classic slasher.
Halloween2018 served as a direct sequel to the original 1978John Carpenter film. It followed the granddaughter of Laurie Strode, the original final girl, as the film’s main character. It also featured Jamie Lee Curtis back in the role of Laurie, showing the character in the modern world after years of dealing with all of the trauma from her younger years. There were three generations of Strode women in the film and it was, in general, praised by both critics and audiences for what it did with the story. It also made over $255 million dollars and is the highest-grossing slasher of all time.
