Marvel Snapoffers players a wide variety of cards to construct their deck with, and one very solid method of constructing a deck is to pick a card and build the deck around that card’s capabilities. This tends to result in decks focused on making the most of a specific effect or group of related effects, like On-Play, Ongoing, or Discard.

InMarvel Snap, Gambit is a cost 3, power 1, card with a two-step effect. First he discards a random card from the player’s hand, and then he destroys a random enemy card at his location. Aside from being a reference to his preferred weapon, this effect allows players to potentially eliminate a powerful card their opponent played on a location, and can pair nicely with cards that benefit from being discarded. This article will offer a suggested deck that Gambit works well in.

Discard Synergy

This deck uses the effects of Ghost Rider,Swarm, and Silver Samurai to gain the advantage and bring out tricky but powerful cards like Helicarrier and The Infinaut. It relies on using cards like Blade, Gambit, and Colleen Wing to discard cards early, and Lady Sifto target the Helicarrier and The Infinaut in particular from turn 3 onwards. Discarding the Helicarrier allows players to add three random cards to their hand while also discarding a powerful card for later, while The Infinaut is a tremendously strong card that can normally only be played on turn 6 if nothing was played on turn 5, due to its effect and high cost. Thanks to Ghost Rider, it becomes possible to summon a discarded card to a location on turn 4, allowing players to recycle cards and mitigate the high cost and drawbacks of cards like the Helicarrier and The Infinaut.

The Collector is included in this deckthanks to his powerful effect that boosts his power whenever cards are added to the hand, except from the deck. This means that Swarm’s duplication and the Helicarrier’s discard effect will boost his numbers considerably. Moon Girl also works well here, duplicating the entire hand to allow players to generate extra copies of cards before discarding. If Moon Girl is played before a Discard card so that she reveals first, she can prevent players from losing an important card from the random discard effects of cards like Gambit and Blade while also generating extra copies for combos.

Gambit himself is excellent for dealing with strong cards the opponent plays on a location, reducing their power at a location and potentially robbing them of an important combo piece. Swarm is arguably the best card for Discard decks in the game right now, creating two copies of themselves that cost 0 when discarded, allowing players to swarm locations and build up power.

An alternative to The Infinaut and/or the Helicarrier would be to add Hela to the deck, allowing her to play several Discarded cards onto random locations on the last turn and potentially swing the match in the player’s favor.
