Players have had their hands onMarvel’s Avengersfor a little while now, and the reactions have been mixed. Some players havelingering questions afterAvengers' ending, but for others, the issues were with the game itself.

It has been pointed out by many thatMarvel’s Avengersfeels like two games put together. Some fans argue that on the one hand, the single player components are great, and feel satisfying in story and gameplay. On the other hand, the live service aspects don’t mesh so well and feel unneccessary. What has held several players back is a series of issues with the game itself. This is what Crystal Dynamics addressed in a recent tweet/post.

It would not be wrong to say thatMarvel’s Avengerslaunched with numerous issues. Not all of these issues were huge, or fundamental in its design. However, there were enough for players to sit up and take notice, and for Crystal Dynamics to follow suit. In a recent post, Crystal Dynamics outlined 1000 issue fixes that it had rolled out with a patch for the game. It was well known thatAvengers' issues would need to be fixed before DLCwas implemented, so this is definitely a good focus forAvengers’big patch.

Looking over the list of issues that the patch supposedly fixes, it’s stunning to know how many problems made it into the game. Many now-fixed issues in the campaign deal with characters getting stuck or infinite loading screens. Matchmaking in multiplayer had to be dealt with, and there was an overhaul on several UI points to make them function better. In combat, multiple issues had to be dealt with involving characters and enemies freezing or failing to do something. Adaptoids had to be tweaked as well, to make them more fair. It’s uncertain how much this will add to the alreadymassive amount of storageAvengerstakes up(at least on PS4).

The art and animation issues fixed paint a picture of a game world that must have looked amusingly broken at times. Desynced moves, seeing through walls, and ragdolling are just a few of the fixes mentioned. There is no specific mention as to whether the devs fixedthe problem withMarvels' Avengersending cutscene, but perhaps it is covered by one of the general fixes.

More disturbing are the changes that were necessary for the gear and rewards systems. Issues of players not receiving rewards or having resources disappear on them seem to have been plentiful. With these being a considerable hindrance to players, it’s good the loot system was fixed relatively early (and hopefully fixed well). Whether this will make theleakedAvengersraidpresumably coming next have worthwhile loot remains to be seen.

Marvel’s Avengersis available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
