This week’s chapter was no different, with lots of shocking moments for the fans to process and an incredibly exciting cliffhanger at the end. With that,Jujutsu Kaisenchapter 234 was largely enjoyable with a lot to dissect.
Yuta’s Decision
Towards the end of the previous chapter ofJJK, fans saw the fight between Gojo and Sukuna turn into a three versus one. This fight is largely unfair for Gojo, given that Sukuna alone is incredibly difficult to handle. On top of that, he is now bringing out Mahoraga and also Agito. Together, these two beasts can defeat the vast majority of sorcerers in the world of JJK and now, Gojo has to fight all three at once. To make things even worse, Sukuna is in Megumi’s body, which means Gojo has to be careful about how to deal with the situation as it is a very precarious one.Jujutsu Kaisenchapter 234 was definitely one where Gojo was pushed around and this led his students to think that they should join the battle.
Yuta, specifically, wanted to join, given that he has an extraordinary amount of Cursed Energy and together with Gojo, he could potentially have defeated Sukuna. With the fact that Sukuna was bringing out more power to fight on his behalf, it only made sense for Yuta to join as well. However, he was stopped from doing so for various reasons. For one, multiple students wanted to join this fight, including Maki, who believed that she’s the one who should be doing this, if someone had to. Yuta is supposed to be that trump card and they cannot afford losing him this early.

However, even more importantly, it was made clear by Mei Mei that Gojo and Sukuna have very different conditions for winning. For Gojo, defeating Sukuna is enough but for Sukuna to win, he’s going to have to deal with a lot more even if he beats Gojo. The conclusion everyone comes to is that Sukuna likely has a trump card that he will pull out if everyone joins the battle. In other words, provoking him would not be the best option. Most importantly, however, this is Gojo’s fight, and interfering with it would be disrespectful and that was highlighted pretty clearly inJJKchapter 234.
Gojo Fights A 3 Vs 1 Battle
Jujutsu Kaisenchapter 234, expectedly, showcased a lot of the fight between Gojo and Sukuna. Fans expected this clash to continue and Gojo to be constantly on the back foot now, given that this fight is a three-on-one. In the previous chapter, he concluded thatusing Hollow Technique: Purpleis the only way he can deal with what is in front of him. However, using this technique isn’t simple and he needs time and preparation. That is precisely where Sukuna shines. Currently, he has two more bodies at his disposal and attacking all at once ensures that Gojo does not get the chance to use Purple.
Sukuna also concluded that taking a Purple from Gojo would be fatal for him and that he would most likely not win. The last time he was hit with 120% Purple, he was 4 km away and still ended up losing his arms. Taking it at close range this time around would prove to be very dangerous for him and, that is precisely why he did everything he could to avoid that outcome.

Meanwhile, Gojo was seen fighting against the Shikigami in theJujutsu Kaisenchapter 234. Both of them were seen giving him quite a lot of trouble. Gojo decided to take Agito down first, however, the healing properties that the shikigami possessed were certainly troublesome. By testing various hypotheses, Gojo came to the conclusion that he needed to take down Agito in one shot as well.
Gojo Loses His Arm
JJKchapter 234 surprised everyone when Sukuna started to get Mahoraga to act in ways that fans never predicted before. Fans know most of the capabilities of this Shikigami, however, flying as well as using slash-based attacks certainly were not among them. These powers belong to none other than Sukuna yetMahoraga was able to tap into themand surprise everyone, including Gojo in this chapter. With a spin of the wheel, this ability became accessible to him and he sent a powerful slicing attack Gojo’s way, which ended up taking his right arm clean off above the elbow. In fact, even the building behind them was completely sliced through, which just goes to show the incredible ferocity of this attack.
Given that Gojo’s healing has weakened extremely, growing the entire arm immediately would have been impossible. This put Gojo on the back foot even more, given that now he was fighting with one arm against three monsters at once. Naturally, Gojo ended up taking quite some beating from them, and overall, things certainly do not look good for him at the moment. Gojo took a barrage of attacks from all three of his enemies inJJKchapter 234 and Agito delivered a powerful blow to his face. However, that is precisely where his counterattack finally began and things took an exciting turn once again in this enthralling fight that has kept the fans on the edge of their seats the entire time.

Gojo’s Retaliation
While fans lost hope once Gojo lost his arm to Mahoraga, it was restored immediately after as he started his counterattack towards the end of the chapter. After taking a powerful blow from Agito to the face, Gojo decided to get serious and told the beast that it wasn’t powerful enough to compete with him. Against all odds, Gojo used Maximum Output Blue and created a powerful attack strong enough to one-shot Agito. Not only did this attack crush its entire body but, at the same time, it also completely removed it from the battlefield. Thankfully for Sukuna and Mahoraga, the attack did not land and they survived. However, it looks like Gojo is going to amp up his strength from here onwards. His arm appears to be healing, although slowly but steadily.
More importantly, towards the end ofJJKchapter 234, the narrator chimed in and revealed that in 41 seconds, Gojo will scar Shinjuku with his powerful Hollow Technique: Purple. This meansSukuna will be unsuccessful in attempting to stop Gojofrom using Purple. Gojo will unleash a powerful technique and if it lands on Sukuna, the tide of the battle could shift in Gojo’s favor and possibly even grant him the win. Beyond any doubt, this fight is now ending as the editor’s note mentioned that it has now reached its climax. Fans only need to wait a bit longer to see who wins between these two powerhouses.
