GLOWandSprungstar Shakira Barrera is now the latest name to join the cast of Marvel Studios' Disney Plus seriesIronheart. The upcoming show based on the Marvel comic of the same name is already shaping up to be another heavy hitter for the streamer and the studio.

The report comes fromDeadline, which also says that Barrera will star in the 6-episode show as a series regular. While her role is currently unknown, she’ll be joining an ever-growing group of talent alongsideIronheart’s lead actress Dominique Thorne, who plays the main character, Riri Williams. But given the fluctuating nature of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is any number of possibilities concerning who Barrera might play.

Ironheartstars Thorne as Riri Williams, a brilliant young inventor who creates an advanced suit of power armor that rivals the tech used by Iron Man himself. A number of other stars have already signed on to the project, includingSolo: A Star Wars Story’s Alden Ehrenreichand evenRuPaul’s Drag Racewinner Shea Couleé. Both of their roles are currently unknown as well, which puts them in good company with all the other stars whose roles are also a mystery.

Barrera is a regular on the newFreevee comedy seriesSprungfromMy Name is Earlcreator Greg Garcia. Aside from that, her impressive resume also includes Netflix’sGLOW, where she played Yolanda, andIt’s Bruno, as Lulu. Stints on shows like USA’sQueen of the Southand Showtime’sShamelessround things out. Interestingly, she even made an appearance in the Ubisoft video gameFar Cry 6as Camilla “Espada” Montero.

Marvel Studios' Disney Plus shows have earned quite a bit of praise from audiences lately, with hits likeMs. Marveland the shorter (but arguably sweeter for it)She-Hulkdrawing in fans who may never have checked out the franchise otherwise. The talent behindIronheart, from performers likeThis is Usstar Lyric Rossto head writer and acclaimed poet Chinaka Hodge, certainly makes this feel like a project that may very well follow that trend. So the wait will probably be that much more difficult.
