When starting their adventures inPalworld, players rarely think about saving game progress, instead choosing to explore a new world and its mechanics. However, having established a decent base andacquired at least a few rare Pals, you probably do not want to lose this progress. At this point, many will try to find the save button in the in-game menu, but not everything is so simple.
Unfortunately, players can not create many saves and return to them at will. It is a bit disappointing because you won’t be able to secure yourself before a boss fight, for example. However, you don’t have to worry about your overall progress, as the game will take care of it for you.
How To Save Progress in Palworld
First, it is worth noting thatPalworldhas a permanent autosave progress feature and uses it quite often. The game will save all progress on your server every few minutes, and you can verify this by periodically noticing a correspondingnotification in the upper right corner of the screen. Unfortunately, players cannot disable this feature or change the period between saves.
Also, if you want to save your game before exitingPalworld, you don’t have to worry about that either. The game automatically saves your progress after you click Return to Title or Exit the Game. However,if you are playing with friends, the saving process repeats after each player leaves the game. The creators ofPalworldhave made sure that players have peace of mind about their achievements in the game world, so you have nothing to worry about.
The only reason you can lose progress is if the game crashes. However, this happens extremely rarely, and you will only lose a few minutes of gameplay in the worst case. Of course, this can be disappointing if youdefeat a bossduring these few minutes, but unfortunately, you will have to challenge it again. And if you’re playing with friends, you don’t have to worry about it.
Instead, if you want to leave the game for an extended period, we recommend creating a backup ofPalworld’ssave file. You only need to go to C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\SaveGames and copy the SaveGames folder to another location. And if, after returning to the game after a while, you notice any problems, you’re able to restore your progress using a backup copy.
