Cookbooks inElden Ringare the only way for a character to learn new recipes forcraftable items that can be used to make the game easier. For recipes exclusive toShadow of the Erdtree, players will have to collect the cookbooks that can only be found inside.
There are four Battlefield Priest’s Cookbooks in the DLC, and all of them can be found inside or near the Shadow Keep, the third main area of the game. While some of these are relatively easy to find, others can be quite tricky. Here are all their locations.
Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [1] Location
The Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [1] can be found in achamber inside the Sunken Chapel underneath Shadow Keep. This area unlocks after players drain the water from the keep.
From the Sunken Chapel Site of Grace, turn southeast to the arena with the large white tree where you fight anUlcerated Tree Spiritand enter the building to the northwest. There will be exploding zombies and a Fire Knight guarding the inside. While facing the room with the large Statue of Marika, turn right. You’ll see a balcony with stone stairs leading up to it on either side and a green door in the middle. Opening the doorleads down to the Hinterlands, but before you do that, walk up the stairs and pick up the Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [1] from the corpse on the balcony.
Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [2] Location
Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [2] can be found in theFort of Reprimandin the tower directly above the Black Knight Edredd mini-boss fight. After defeating Edredd and obtaining theAsh of War: Aspect of Crucible: Wings,enter the room he was guarding, and you’ll notice a ladder heading up. Take the ladder to the roof, and there will be another ladder leading further up to the top of the rampart. Open the chest here to pick up the Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [2].
Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [3] Location
From the High Road Cross Site of Grace, take the road heading north, which leads directly to the Shadow Keep. Along the way there will be a large encampment of soldiers on either side of the road with a Furnace Golem. There is a tent near the end of this campsite to the left that has a corpse with the Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [3] on it.
Defeating this Furnace Golem will give you theCrimsonburst Dried Tearfor theFlask of Wondrous Physick.
Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [4] Location
The Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [4] can be found on a corpsebehind a hidden wall in the Cracked Pot Room under the Shadow Keep. To get to this area, start from the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace facing the lion statue in the middle, and enter the room directly to the left. Past the Fire Mage Shadow enemies will be a small room with an elevator that goes down. Use the elevator and you’ll find yourself in the basement of the Shadow Keep. Take the first right and continue down the corridor. You’ll be jumped by a flesh pot enemy on the left. Pick up theAsh of War: Wall of Sparksbehind him and continue onward. In the next room, there will be a staircase going down to the right with another flesh pot enemy and a small alcove to the left with two small lit candles. Defeat the enemy and roll into the wall behind him (as shown in the video above) to destroy the hidden wall. Directly in front of you will be a corpse with a purple item on it: the Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook [4].
