Tuck and Roll
Sora can perform a Dodge Roll by equipping it in the abilities menu, but you won’t be able to get it until you get to Traverse Town after leaving Destiny Islands. You’ll eventuallymeet with Donald and Goofy after completing some objectives– once you do so, you’ll fight the boss of Traverse Town,Guard Armor, together.
Once the fight comes to a close, you’ll get several goodies. Not only will you obtain the Brave Warrior accessory, which increases HP and Strength, but you’ll also get 500 Munny, an Elixir, the Fire spell, and last but not least,Goofy will teach Sora the Dodge Roll ability.
The skill needs one AP to equip, so make some space or wait until you earn more. Sora’s AP will increase by leveling up, wearing certain equipment, or using AP Boosts. You can use the ability by pressing the Square (PS) or X button (Xbox) while moving.

The timing of when Sora unlocks the Guard ability depends on the choice you made at the beginning of the game. If youchoose the Shield in the intro, Sora will learn Guard at level 15. If you choose the Sword, he will learn the move at level 24. If you choose the Staff, he will learn the move at level 33.
The ability will need to be equipped from the menu, and it takes up two AP (Ability Points). To actually use the move, you just need to press Square (PS) or the X button (Xbox) while standing still.
