Call of Duty: WarzoneSeason 4 began just a few days ago, and for the most part players have been able to jump into this next phase of the battle royale shooter with relative ease. The changes that have been introduced this week are largely more of what they’ve come to expect, new modes, new weapons, new fixes, etc., but with a handful of big new additions to spruce things up.

The biggest ofSeason 4’s additionsare random in-game events. These come in three different varieties that can majorly shake up a match in unique and unpredictable ways. Of these, the one with perhaps the most potential for drawing players into a chaotic situation is the Fire Sale, but since Season 4 started only two days ago, many of them might not know what exactly is going on when the event is happening, or how to capitalize on it.

Fire Sales cause the items available atWarzone’s many Buy Stations to be massively discounted. While the Sale is active, most items (Infinity Ward says loadout drops aren’t included) are available for up to 80% off of their standard price, and sometimes items are even given out for free. Combined with the fact that buying back an eliminated teammate is always free during a Fire Sale, this event can seriously turn the tide for struggling teams that are short on cash, gear, and teammates.

Alas, it’s not called a Fire Sale for no reason, because the event only lasts for a minute, so players basically have to drop what they’re doing andrun to the closest Buy Stationif they want any chance of getting armor, killstreaks, redeploys, and more on the cheap. This brutal time constraint is made even more so by the larger amount of enemies players will likely face trying to get there. In short, players are in for a very intense 60 seconds.

In addition to Fire Sale,Warzone’s Season 4 in-match eventsinclude Jailbreak, which will revive all eliminated players, and Supply Choppers, which spawns a heavily armored helicopter that drops high-tier loot if destroyed. All of these can happen at any point roughly around the halfway point of a match, before the Gulag closes, though it’s not always guaranteed an event will happen. In short, players are going to have to be ready to adapt on the fly if they want to make the most of these events whenever they happen.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis free-to-play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
