An inventiveZelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer attempted to trap a cow in a box made out of Zonai devices. The shortTears of the Kingdomclip showed the player trying to capture the animal two times inside the box, with a surprising twist each time.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis a game known for its experimentation. Fans have taken full advantage of the game’s physics and Zonai devices to create some of the most impressive contraptions in modern gaming. Fans have used thephysics inTears of the Kingdomto create elevators, flying machines, hovercrafts, and everything in between. It wasn’t long before fans started using the physics in the game to interact with the animals and other NPCs in the world. There are countless videos online of players torturing Koroks by flinging them from one area of Hyrule to another or shooting them up into space with a rocket-powered contraption.
On the Hyrule Engineering subreddit, Reddit user UdgeTime attempted to trap a cow in Hyrule Field inside a box made out ofZonai devicesand was surprised by the result. In the clip, Link can be seen using his Ultrahand ability to slowly guide the cow into the makeshift container. After Link manages to trap the animal, the box shoots forward, bouncing off the ground high in the air. The box swings back and forth across the field, even managing to knock down a random structure in its wake. The clip continues with a second attempt, ending with the box flying down a hill once the cow gets inside.
It appears that the glitch shown in the video is due to a strange physics problem with someNPCs inTears of the Kingdom. The same thing happens with human NPCs, as shown in a clip posted by Reddit user Accomplished_Oil_781. In the video, Link is shown trying to trap Beedle, one of the most famous shopkeepers in theZeldaseries, inside a contraption made out of railings. The instant Link manages to fuse all the railings around him, Beedle and the entire structure zoom forward, never to be seen again.
Trapping NPCs inside boxes and contraptions seems to be a trend lately, as oneTears of the Kingdomplayer attempted to trap a Gleeok in a box. In that case, the box didn’t shoot forward or fly in the air; the Gleeok broke out of it with every attempt.
