When it comes to fan creations and artwork, a game likeElden Ringhas proven to not lack choice when someone does a quick search across social media. Unique character creations, stencil drawings, and pixel art can easily be seen showcasing players' favorite parts of FromSoftware’s latest title, whether it be the first look at the Lands Between or suffering in theduel against Malenia. However, one player’s latest creation shows how much the game’s epic music can add tension to anything, including one of the goofiest fight scenes courtesy ofKing of the Hill.
Elden Ringis the latest title from developer FromSoftware and follows the gameplay style of games likeDark SoulsandBloodbornewith its fantasy-inspired setting and challenging gameplay. Players become a Tarnished, an exiled warrior who has ventured to the Lands Between in hopes of reforging the game’s titular ring after it was broken and scattered across the land in an attempt to become the new Elden Lord. Standing between the players and the title of Elden Lord are the demi-god beings who wield fragments of the broken ring and preside over the Lands Between’s various regions.

The aforementioned video is courtesy of Reddit user Jacob Chapel, who posted their video creation to the game’s official subreddit for all to see. Chapel pulled a clip from a 2004 episode ofKing of the Hill, titledCeci N’est Pas Une King of The Hill, where Dale comes into possession of a suit of armor and begins causing trouble around Arlen before he is confronted by Bill in his own homemade suit of armor. While the fight is fairly anti-climactic on its own, Chapel adds to both the tension and humor by overlayingElden Ring’s musicand a boss bar for Bill.
When hearing the description, it would not be surprising for some viewers to question how well the combination ofElden RingandKing of the Hillactually works. It is understandable, given how different the two are beyond their respective entertainment mediums along with Chapel’s own admission that their idea for the video simply came about becauseKing of the Hillwas on in the background while playing.
That being said, Chapel’s video is further proof of how opposites can attract and produce surprising results. It isn’t anything new in theElden Ringsubreddit, either, as plenty of users can be seen flexing their creativity bycreating Thanos inElden Ringor giving their artistic rendition of the game’s many bosses.
Elden Ringis currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
