Cenat even received a pair of purple Nikes from Twitchin honor of his new status, and though the gift seemed to be somewhat of a letdown to the streamer, the shoes were etched with the words “King of Twitch.” However, the Bronx native’s status as a top earner did not make him immune to the ban hammer, and Kai Cenat found himself unexpectedly and temporarily booted from the platform on April 18.

Often, banned content creators are uncertain why they’ve been expelled from a platform or, if they know, they don’t always share all the details with their audience. However, Dexerto has learned that Kai Cenat was banned fromTwitchfor “repeated explicit simulated activity inGTA.”The unnamed sources also wanted to make it clear that the punishment is only temporary.
In addition to regularly holding Just Chatting streams, Kai Cenat often plays games on his channel, and if he was simulating sexual acts inGrand Theft Auto, that would be a direct violation of Twitch’s terms of service. Whatever the reason for his ban, the event has renewed the ongoing rumors that Cenat may be moving to Twitch rival Kick soon. In response to the streamer’s Twitter post announcing that he’d been banned, Kick co-owner Trainwreck simply replied with a picture of himself holding out his hand.
For years, the purple platform has been accused of showing special treatment to its top content creators, butTwitch has banned many notable streamers, including JiDion, Adin Ross, and Mizkif. Some of these are temporary, others are semi-permanent and result in the content creator moving to another platform. Sometimes, as in the case of Indiefoxx in early April, Twitch allows them to return unexpectedly and surprises even the streamer themselves.
Of course, this isn’t the first timeTwitch has banned Kai Cenat. His third ban, which happened in March 2022, was his longest and lasted for a month. All the others have only been for a day or three, and it’s likely that this latest ban will also be a short one. However, it does show that even the most popular content creators on the platform can’t get too complacent, though now there are other viable options for streaming like Kick and YouTube to fall back on.
