The Patriot Exosuit is a heavily-armed weapons platform that players can pilot inHelldivers 2. It rivals Automaton Hulks in both stature and firepower, carrying around some of the most awesome guns Super Earth can mount on a medium-sized vehicle.
After almost a month since the release ofHelldivers 2, these lumbering mechs have finally become available to the playerbase.Unlocking these new weaponsmight take a while for most, however. If you’re excited to pilot one of these exosuits, here are a few things you need to know about it first.

How to Unlock The Patriot Exosuit
Much likeother Stratagems inHelldivers 2, theExo-45 Patriot Exosuitis unlocked by purchasing it from the Requisitions terminal aboard the Super Destroyer. It costs 20,000 Requisition to unlock, and players must beat least level 25before they can do so. The mechs became available immediately after the liberation of Tien Kwan, an almost two-day battle that saw over 300k Helldivers fighting behind enemy lines simultaneously.
Players who haven’t quite met the criteria can still pilot mech suits of their own. As of writing, the EXO-45 Patriot is available as a free stratagem in certain planets. All Helldivers get one Exosuit to deploy per mission — if itruns out of ammoorgets destroyed, they won’t be able to get another one until their next mission, or until they randomly find another one parked ina POI somewhere in the map. Those who unlock the Patriot via the Requisition terminal get two mechs per mission, and this can stack with the suits from the free stratagem to get a total of three.

The EXO-45 comes with a rocket pod on its left shoulder and a minigun on its right arm. You only get 14 rockets and 1000 rounds of ammunition per mech, and there’s currently no way to replenish their reserves. Don’t expect to finish a long mission with just one Exosuit.Heavy enemies inHelldivers 2like Hulksand Bile Titans can still destroy mechs, and they aren’t immune to friendly fire either.
As of Patch 1.000.101, only one variant of the Patriot Exosuit is available. Previously, dataminers discovered two more variants — one with dual rocket pods and another armed with twin autocannons. It’s unknown when these mechs will become available (if at all), though community members speculate that these may be part of a future Warbond, assuming they don’t get added as just free additions to the Requisition terminal.
