One player took to Reddit under the username HackingSpartan to show off a nine-second video clip of how badHalo Infinite’s desync problem is. In this video clip, the player runs into a nearby building, coming across an opponent in the process. However, when HackingSparta fires at the opponent’s head, none of the shots deal any damage. In a quick turn of events, the opponent turns to and pummels HackSpartan to death before entering another gunfight. What makes this video intriguing is the fact that HackingSpartan ping was less than 10ms during the entire clip, highlightingHalo Infinite’sunreliable connectivity.

Halo Infinite’s connection problems are not new. In fact,Halo Infinitesuffers from server outages, and often times, those outages cause players to lose their XP boosts or lose ranks in the Ranked playlist. The connection issues also exacerbate a number of other problemsHalo Infinitesuffers from such as the challenge system. For a while,Halo Infinite’s Big Team Battle mode was unplayable, but some challenges require players to go into the game-mode to complete them, so 343 Industries had to temporarily remove Big Team Battle-based challenges. In addition, players also had to stay away from Big Team Battle to prevent themselves from wasting their XP boosts as they are used even outside of matches.

Thankfully, because players are able to bring these types of issues to 343 Industries' attention, some of them get fixed. Recently,an update toHalo Infiniteimproved Big Team Battlealong making other important adjustments.

However, players will be disappointed in the fact that regardless of the quality of their connection, they have no control overHalo Infinite’s desync problem. To make matters worse,343 Industries in a development updatestates that the studio is still finalizing plans in regard toHalo Infinite’s Forge mode, co-op campaign, and roadmap. With 343 Industries' priorities on finishing up the roadmap and pushing out Forge and co-op campaign, players will not know if the studio will fix the connection issues any time soon.
