Recent information hints that Guerrilla Games’ next project is not the sequel toHorizon Forbidden West, but the multiplayer spinoff from this franchise. Players eager to discover the next adventures of Aloy will have to wait for the next main entry in theHorizonseries but will have a new game to further explore its post-apocalyptic world.
Last December,Guerrilla announced a new multiplayer project set inHorizon’s universe. This upcoming game will introduce a new set of characters and a different look than the previous entries in the series, offering a brand new experience for players to discover together. This project is not the only spinoff in theHorizonfranchise, as Guerrilla releasedHorizon Call of the Mountainlast February as a launch title for the highly anticipated PS VR2, the latest virtual reality headset from Sony.

In a new job post published by Guerrilla Games, the studio appears to be looking for a Lead World Designer to work on the upcomingHorizonmultiplayer game. The job description mentions that this multiplayer spinoff will be Guerrilla’s next game, meaning that thesequel toHorizon Forbidden Westwon’t come before this online project. Guerrilla hasn’t shared any additional detail about the multiplayerHorizongame but should announce more about it soon as the company is hiring new team members to work on this upcoming project.
While waiting for an official release date forHorizon’s multiplayer spinoff, fans of the franchise can look forward toHorizon Forbidden West’sBurning ShoresDLC. This expansion, scheduled to release on April 19, will continue to follow the adventures of Aloy as she explores Los Angeles and the threat looming over the city. As theHorizonseries takes place in a post-apocalyptic world filled with deadly machines, Los Angeles is not a sunny place home to Hollywood stars, but a dangerous volcanic archipelago that Aloy can explore by swimming around or flying on the back of a Sunwing.
Horizon Forbidden West’sBurning ShoresDLC was first teased by Sylens’ actor Lance Reddick, who passed away at age 60 earlier this month. Whether or not Sylens will be back in further entries in theHorizonfranchise remain a mystery, as Guerrilla paid its respects to the actor but didn’t announce any new project featuring Sylens. Players who would like to see more of Lance Reddick can head toDestiny 2, as Bungie confirmed that his characterCommander Zavala will be featured in futureDestiny 2content.
