Summary
Surviving in the jungle ofGreen Hellis no easy task. Pretty much everything in the jungle wants to injure or kill the player. Staying well-armed at all times is of great importance. Without decent weapons, players aren’t likely to survive for very long.
Players should constantly upgrade their weapons and tools to makefacing off against an angry tribeor even angrier animals much easier. The longer they survive, the better gear they can obtain, and that is why it is important to know what weapons are best for each point of this hardcore survival, be it in the early game or late game.

Updated on July 13, 2025, by Benjamin Joe:Since Green Hell made its way to console, there has been an influx of new players who are attempting to survive the dangers that the jungle has to offer. In a world where everything is designed to be deadly, surviving just a couple of days can be a difficult task. Being armed with the best weapons is a must. While the game is difficult, it is possible to craft some decent weapons early on. Crafting a good weapon quickly is key to survival. Players should grab all the resources they can find in order to start crafting items that can help them fend off attackers and hostile creatures.
10Stick Blade – Early Game
Better Than Nothing
Starting off, one of the first weapons a player will want to craft to not only collect resources but also to survive is the Stick Blade. This compact weapon can be easily crafted by combining two small sticks, a small stone, and a rope.
Players shouldn’t rely on blades like this for combat against hostile enemies,as the safest bet is staying as far away from those that can cause harm. The blade should be for a last-ditch effort, as dealing damage from a distance is safest.

That said, in a pinch, the Stick Blade can help out when fighting smaller creatures. While this weapon is mainly used for gathering resources, it can help during combat when the player doesn’t have anything else at their disposal.
9Axe – Early Game
Keep A Little More Distance From Enemies
Although this axe looks like it could fall apart in seconds, the Axe although a starter weapon, does a decent bit of damagewhen compared to itsmore realistically designedlesser-half, the Stone Axe. Players will need to combine a stick, two small stones, and rope in order to craft this dangerous tool.
Similar to the Stick Blade, survivors should not rely on this weapon when in combat, and is better suited for attacking from a distance. This should only be if there is nowhere left to run. When compared to the Stick Blade, the Stone Axe allows the player to keep a little more distance from enemies during a fight. This can mean the difference between surviving and becoming a meal for some hungry animals.

8Modern Axe – Early To Mid-Game
A Pre-Made Weapon That’s Great For Resource Collecting
Green Hellisn’t just some uninhabited island, as players will stumble across both makeshift man-made buildings and their modern tools. One such item is the Modern Axe.The Modern Axe can usually be found in or around the airport.
The Modern Axe is commonly used for chopping down trees. It will always be found with maximum durability, meaning players who don’t have very good crafting skills will always have a decent axe on hand. It also does a considerable amount of damage to both animals and natives, making it a ripe choice when in danger.

Since it can’t be crafted, the player should use this weapon sparingly. Once it breaks, it can’t be mended. So, this weapon is best saved for gathering resources.
7Obsidian Blade – Mid-Game
A Dependable Weapon
After players have got their bearings, it is time for them to consider improving upon their past tools. Once the player has obtained some obsidian, they shouldupgrade their blade to the Obsidian Blade for better resource collecting and protection.
Obsidian can be a little tricky to find early on. That said, players can normally find it in rocky areas like caves. Obsidian is much darker than normal stones, making it easy to spot.

With enough crafting skill, this can be constructed by combining an obsidian stone, a small stone, and rope. It may look like a simple rock, but this sharp stone can slice and may be the weapon thatfends off a hungry jaguarthat has been stalking a foraging player.
6Four Pronged Spear – Early Game
Great For Melee And Ranged Attacks
Although easily crafted in the early game, spears are by far one of the best melee combat weapons a player can equip and use while surviving inGreen Hell.Foes can easily be kept a spear’s length away, and the versatility of this weapon due to how it can be thrown also makes ita great ranged option when facing natives.
As a Four Pronged Spear can be made cheaply by combining two small sticks, a large stick, and rope, a player can create them in bulk to make easy throwing weapons to fight enemies with.

5Stone Spear – Early To Mid-Game
Keep A Safe Distance From Enemies
Swapping out the weaker spears for a Stone Spear as quickly as possible willguarantee a player a better chanceat both hunting and defending themselves. This spear is also quite cheap to craftas it only requires a stone blade, a long stick, and a rope.
Unlike the other starter spears such as the Bone Spear or the Four Pronged Spear, this spear can be thrown further. This can make defeating certain animals in the forest easier to deal with, such as the South American Rattlesnake or even attacking a Jaguar from a distance.

4Metal Blade – Late Game
Tricky To Craft, But Powerful
By far the greatest blade that can be crafted by a player, the Metal Blade may still be a dangerous weapon to wield due to how close the player must be, but its damage makes up for this. Unlike the other weapons on the list, more work will need to go into crafting this, as a metal blade mold must first be constructed.
After creating the metal blade cast, this can be combined with rope to make the most durable blade in the game, meaning it can be used for much longer, compensating for the time it takesto construct.

3Metal Axe – Late Game
Gather Resources Quickly And Hunt Enemies Efficiently
Only just beating the Metal Blade in ranking,it possesses enough damage to easily defend a player against the ambushes of Natives, while also containing the durability to not break mid-battle or chop.
This weapon also takes a lot longer to craft, requiring players to first make themselves a Metal Axe cast by using a Metal Axe mold. This can beseen as a challenge. However, late-game players should already have a lot of the resources needed to craft the separate items needed to put the pieces together.

2Bamboo Bow – Whole Game
A Must-Have Weapon
A weapon that can be crafted early into playingGreen Helland will stick with the player throughout their survival is the bow. There are four bow variants, but the bamboo bow is bothcheap to craft and powerful. For those wanting to see the other types, all of the bows can be seen below:
The bow can be used to take down enemiesfrom far away. If the player gets into an elevated position, then it’s possible to take down enemies while staying out of harm’s way.

1Metal Spear – Late Game
Durable, Powerful, And Effective
Metal Spears are incredibly powerful weapons that would be wasted on a player’snormal use of spearfishing. With the capability to kill an attacking native in only two hits, this spear should be the end goal for any player hoping to survive in this nightmare.
It can also be thrown for a decent distance, though players may want to think twice before they risk losing their spear as it does require a Metal Blade cast, a long stick, and rope. Making it quite a time-consuming weapon to craft.
