Since its release back in September 2020,Genshin Impacthas cetrainly become the most popular gacha games in the gaming industry with a player base that exceeds 40 milion players.
However, the wait seems final to be over as the officialGenshin ImpactTwitter account revealed two upcoming characters that will be playable in the foreseeable future including the long-awaited Shenhe and Yun Jin. The release of the new region Inazuma has brought multiple characters tied to that region with Gorou and Arataki Itto being the most recently announced. It seems like players will head back to thefan-favorite region Liyueas both Shenhe and Yun Jin are heavily related to this part of the map.

According to the lore, Yun Jin is a prestigious dancer, singer, and brewer who works at the popular Heyu Tea House. Even though she’s been rumored to be an Anemo or even the first Dendro character, many players were caught by surprised when miHoYo’s tweet confirmed that she will be using the Geo element. When it comes to her rarity there is no official information but recent rumors hint thatYun Jin could be a four-star character.
The second Polearm user revealed is the high-tempered Cryo Vision holder - Shenhe. Just like Yun Jin, she has been mentioned in multiple leaks over the past couple of months which explains all the hype surrounding this popular character. She is expected to be a brand new five-star character and one of thestrongest DPS characters in the game.
Even though miHoYo did not give a specific date or version of when the new characters will arrive, revealing new characters right before the start of a certain beta phase confirms that those characters will be included in the same patch which in this case is update 2.4. Both of these characters have reached high levels of popularity since they have had their in-game models leaked over a year ago.
If the rumors about their rarity are true, both of these characters are expected to be a part of the same banner which is great news for players who are planning to pull for both of them. When it comes to the other banner, multiple leaks have been hinting that it could be anotherbanner re-run featuring Ganyu and Xiao. This means that update 2.4 could bring two new characters and a double-banner re-run.
