Every year, a newCall of Dutygame releases in the fall. This is no surprise and has been true sinceCall of Duty 2launched back in 2005, but sometimes multipleCall of Dutygames release in a year. 2019 saw the launch ofCall of Duty MobileandCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, whereas 2020 has seenCall of Duty: Warzonebattle royale release as both a new mode forModern Warfareand as a free-to-play, standalone title. As it turns out, the next couple of years should have plenty moreCall of Dutyfor fans to sink their teeth into, if a recent rumor is to be believed.

TheGamingRevolution, a leaker who has accurately leakedCall of Dutynews in the past, recently made a post on Twitter claiming to reveal a number of in-development Activision video game projects. According to TheGameRevolution, there are fourCall of Dutygames on the way, includingCall of Duty 2020(aka Project: Zeus),Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, a free-to-playCall of Dutygame from Sledgehammer Games due out in 2021, and of course, the followup to2019’s hugely successfulModern Warfare.

This is a lot of information to take in at once, so let’s unpack these one by one. TheCall of Duty 2020game that TheGamingRevolution is referring to is likely the title that’s in active development at Treyarch. Activision has so far opted to stay quiet about which studio is makingCall of Duty 2020, but reports from credible sources claim that Treyarch has taken over development and that the game will likely be aBlack Opssequel taking place in Vietnam.

As far asModern Warfare 2 Remasteredgoes, this is far from the first time that we’ve heard of such a game. Last year,Modern Warfare 2 Remasteredwas listed on a ratings board, and more recently, another credible video game leaker claimed thatModern Warfare 2 Remasteredwould launch in 2020.

The free-to-playCall of Dutyfrom Sledgehammer Games could be just about anything. Yet another battle royale seems like a distinct possibility, but then again, Activision may not want to siphon away players fromCall of Duty: Warzone, which has been a runaway hit so far with over 6 million active players within its first 24 hours of availability. Maybe the free-to-play Sledgehammer title will be something likeCall of Duty Mobile, a “best of” compilation that features a variety of popularCall of Dutymultiplayer maps and modes. However, that’s just speculation at this time, and TheGamingRevolution says the game isn’t coming until 2021, so don’t expect any new information soon.

And finally, it’s a no-brainer thatInfinity Wardis moving forward with aModern Warfarefollowup. Since the game likely won’t be out until 2022 though, fans shouldn’t expect to learn anything concrete about it until May 2022 at the earliest.

It should go without saying, butCall of Dutyfans should take all of this information with a massive grain of salt. TheGamingRevolution has accurately leakedCall of Dutynews in the past, but that doesn’t mean this information is accurate. Everyone should keep their expectations in check until official announcements have been made.
