Microsoft and Playground Games had a surefire hit on their hands last year with the critically acclaimed racing titleForza Horizon 5. Set in Mexico with diverse biomes and an impressive number of accessibility options for all players,Forza Horizon 5quickly went on to smash all sorts of recordsincluding the one previously set for being the biggest launch in Xbox history. While the early launch of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer stole some of the playerbase away, Playground Games has continued to update the experience, further improving it and giving players things to do.
As a live service title,Forza Horizon 5is constantly changing, from various bug fixes and other improvements made through updates, the game hasn’t seen any massive expansions as of yet. However, fans were tipped off that Playground Games was about to change that as aHot Wheels expansion leaked early on Steam. However, nothing official ever came out to confirm or deny the news, though many assumed with Microsoft’s Summer showcase only days away, something could pop up there.

As it turns out, the leak was accurate as Microsoft and Playground Games officially revealed the Hot Wheels expansion through a new trailer. High above the clouds, the trailer also showcased numerous Hot Wheels inspired cars including the 2000 Hot Wheels Deora II and 2021 Hennessey Venom F. Once theForza Horizon 5experience launches in July, players will be able to unlock 10 Hot Wheels cars, as well as design, build, and share Hot Wheels adventures with other players. In fact, the trailer confirmed that there are 80 distinct and swappable pieces in total to work with.
