Fortnite’s March 19 update added three items to the battle royale’s sandbox in the Chains of Hades, Shield Bubble Jr, and Drum Gun. Technically, all three of these items are new toFortnite, as the new iteration of the Drum Gun is a separate weapon from its predecessor, although there are still plenty of similarities.
TherecentFortniteupdate, dubbed the Rise of Midas, added plenty of other features as well. Players can now participate in the Rise of Midas Quests, which unlock three rewards including a back bling, glider, and spray. However, like other mid-seasonFortnitequests, they are split into multiple phases with only the first phase being available at this time. Additionally, the update introduced a limited-time mode, which is a new edition of the fan-favorite Floor is Lava playlist. This mode also has its own quests that can be completed for in-game rewards.
Some of the update’s most major additions are its three new items. The Chains of Hades is a new Olympian Power that allows the user to pull enemies towards them with a ranged hook attack, after which they can use the item’s close-range attack combo to deal significant damage. The second item is the Shield Bubble Jr, a new, miniature version ofFortnite’s Shield Bubble. This utility item can be thrown to place a transparent dome that blocks gunfire and projectiles, both incoming and outgoing. As its name suggests, the dome is substantially smaller than the previous version. The final item is the new Drum Gun, which sports a slightly updated look from the older iteration that was last seen in Season OG. The weapon is now classified as an SMG and features new stats.
Three Items Added With Fortnite’s March 19 Update
The original Drum Gun was a popular weapon regarded as one of thebest guns inFortnitehistory. Despite its SMG-like appearance, the original was technically an assault rifle that gave users a 40-round magazine with high DPS. This time around, the Drum Gun has a 30-round magazine with a slightly reduced damage and fire rate. It comes in three rarities: Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
Similar to other recently added Powers likeFortnite’s Wings of Icarus, the Chains of Hades can be found on the ground or in chests. The new Power can also be obtained by defeating Hades, who resides at The Underworld POI in the northwest section of the map. The Power’s three-hit combo results in 150 total damage to an enemy.
