AFinding Nemotelevision series is now rumored to be coming soon to Disney Plus. Following its 2003 release,Finding Nemoquickly became one of the most beloved, remembered, referenced, and successfulPixar Animation Studiosmovies of all time.

Pixar’sFinding Nemofollows Marlin (voiced by Albert Brooks), a worried-single father who also happens to be a clownfish. Marlin goes on a quest to find his lost son, Nemo, after he is captured by divers. Throughout his adventure, Marlin finds some helpful, fellow sea creatures to help and accompany him on his journey, the most notable being Dory (voiced by Ellen DeGeneres), a blue fish with short term memory loss. After helping Marlin successfully reunite with his son, Dory became the star of the 2016 sequel,Finding Dory. WhileFinding Nemois a story of separation and loss,Finding Doryis a story about coming together and new beginnings.

The popular sequel showcases Dory going on a search for her father, whose image in her mind is still heavily affected by her memory loss. Many of the same main themes of unity, trust and transformation found inFinding Nemoare still very evident throughoutFinding Dory. Marlin and Nemo end up trying to help Dory and her father reunite just as she had helped them find one another again. Now, a recent episode ofTheDisInsider Showhas hinted that perhapsFinding Doryisn’t the official end of the franchise.TheDisInsider Showended up revealing that a brand-newFinding Nemoshow could be inearly development for Disney Plus.

“So this coming straight out of Pixar,“TheDisInsider Showreported. “Let me just say over the course of the next couple of years, you’re still getting great, original content from Pixar, even afterLightyear,[…] thanks to things likeCars On The RoadandDug Days,Pixar is diving into the world of series. They are getting ready to animate and develop, alongside Andrew Stanton, aFinding Nemoseries for Disney Plus.” It’s true that society is fully engulfed in nostalgia, and with that comes many other Pixar spin-off films and series.

Although the allegedFinding Nemoseries is just a rumor, many fans are imagining what a possible plot for a spin-off series could look like. Nemo was starting school at the very beginning of the movie, so the series could possibly follow him and his classmates on their crazy escapades in the ocean. It would also be quite funny to see a time-jump where Nemo is suddenly a cranky teenager and Marlin is his usual panic-ridden, strict self. Regardless of whether the spin-off series does end up actually happening, theFinding Nemofranchise as a whole seems far from over.
