One such update for the PS5 is the use of theDualSense’s haptic feedbackand adaptive trigger functions to enhance gameplay inF1 22.The feeling of both collisions and surfaces is enhanced greatly through the “ability to communicate individual chunks of surface debris,” which creates a far more immersive experience to represent the car on a particular part of the track. The adaptive triggers, meanwhile, come into play when the car ‘locks up’ under braking, which “increases the amount of resistance through the brake trigger, resulting in a more immersive connection with the car.” Also, “when wheelspin occurs the resistance of the accelerator trigger is increased.”

Another great way thatF1 22is taking advantage of the DualSense is through the controller speaker, through which players will be able to hear their race engineer feeding them important information and track data. Players are also given the option to hear vital HUD information through the controller speaker.

The DualSense controller’s adaptive triggersare fan favorites for first-person shooter games, but have also come in handy for a variety of other genres of games as well, so they are sure to be a big hit inF1 22.This, along with the haptic feedback and the controller speaker is sure to give players an extra element of immersion as they race around the different tracks in the game.

While it is true that players have sometimes hadbad experiences with the DualSense’s features, it seems that any implementation of them in games seems to be mostly an enhancement of the gameplay, rather than a detriment. Players should be able to look forward to this being the case withF1 22as well.

EA Sports F1 22will release on July 1 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
