Most active players should have the Stonethorn DLC, and those thatmain a tank characterwill want to get their hands on this set. If the stats are not enough, the set looks amazing and is a nice collector’s item for those that value appearance inESO.
Castle Thorn
The Castle Thorn dungeon is a four-person instance that is only recommendedfor max-level characters. Because of how challenging some of the waves are, most people will want to have a top-tier set as well. Gamers can play through Castle Thorn on normal or veteran difficulty. Although, the epic Crimson Twilight pieces will only drop during a veteran run in the instance.
Strategy
For the best chance of success, parties should include a tank, healer, and two DPS characters. The tank should be able to absorb most of the damage dealt, and oneskilled healer shoulddo the trick. Castle Thorn has a total of five bosses, each with somewhere between 3 million and 8 million health.

The final boss, Lady Thorn, can be fought on hard mode. In the harder version of the final battle, Lady Thorn has a whopping 22 million health. As a result, squads will needa massive amount of DPSto clear the castle.
Crimson Twilight Drops
All five bosses have a high chance to drop one piece of the Crimson Twilight Armor Set. Likewise, mini-bosses will occasionally drop one of the pieces as well. Lady Thorn has a chance to drop Crimson Twilight Jewelry but at a much lower rate. The ring in particular is seemingly impossible to get. Squads will likely have to make their way through this challenging instance a number of times before they are able to get the specific pieces they desire, especially if they are hoping for jewelry.
Crimson Twilight Set And Uses
The Crimson Twilight set is one of the most useful tank sets in the game. Items 2 and 4 in the set give tanks 1,206 health each. Additionally, item 3 boosts healing received by 4% while equipped. The full set ability allows players to send out an 8 meter AOE that inflicts 8,220 bleed damage on any creature in the radius. At the same time, the character is healed based on the amount of damage inflicted on nearby enemies.

Every 8 seconds, the Crimson Twilight effect can be triggered once again, crippling enemies and healing the tank. While the description states that the ability scales off of max health, it does not specify at what point the ability will activate. In game, the siphoning AOE triggers as soon as the character approaches 50% health. The actual values will differ depending on the timer and how powerful the enemies are.
Get Infinite XP
Against lower level adds, tanks with the set will be invincible. This is because 8 seconds will not be enough time for the enemies to deplete the health bar completely. Every time a character’s health bar falls low enough, Crimson Twilight will siphon health back to 90+%. If there are respawning adds in an area, this is essentially an infinite XP farm tactic. People can go AFK and return to see they are still alive, auto-healing every 8 seconds.
PVP And PVE
The Crimson Twilight set is effective in both PVE and PVP. The only downside to using it in PVP is that the siphon ability often won’t heal the character as much as it would in PVE. Players can easily deal 82,000 damage or more every eight seconds. This means that the scaled siphoning values will be a lot higher than if the AOE damages just a couple of opponents in PVP.
Tanks with this set will dominate in PVE, and will often feel immortal if they have a good healer.Success in PVPwill be a lot more situational. However, the max health and healing received bonuses offer helpful buffs for any activity.
