Summary

Bandai Namco has given an important piece of advice for players who are struggling with the difficulty ofElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. As players continue to progress throughElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, many find it offers some of FromSoftware’s toughest bosses yet.

While the critical response to FromSoftware’s first and only expansion to the 2022 souls-like has been enormously positive, some players are findingElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreetoo hard, to the point where its Steam reviews have now dropped to “Mixed” in response. Many are discovering that boss fights are massively punishing, with death coming within a couple of hits in some scenarios. Tough boss fights are certainly nothing new to FromSoftware fans, but it seems thatElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreehas taken this to another level.

In response to player complaints, Bandai Namco has reminded players to level up their Scadutree Blessing inElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. This is a new mechanic in the expansion, which allows players to collect Scadutree Fragments to increase their damage dealt, and reduce their damage received. It’s a simple feature, but as it’s new inShadow of the Erdtree, many are overlooking its importance and going without. This is makingdifficultElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreeboss fightseven harder than they’re designed to be, leading to a ton of frustration in the community. The slight nudge from Bandai Namco to level up the Scadutree Blessing is a very polite way of telling players that they’re playing it wrong.

Bandai Namco Reminds Players To Level Up Scadutree Blessing in Shadow of the Erdtree

Players have several different options forgetting and using Scadutree Fragments inElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Miquella’s Crosses and headless statues of Marika will always have a Scadutree Fragment to pick up, while pot-carrying Shadow Enemies and bosses like the Golden Hippopotamus will drop them as loot after combat. From there, it’s just a case of leveling up the Scadutree Blessing from any Site of Grace, which should makeElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreea much less punishing experience.

WithElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreenow released, it will be interesting to follow what FromSoftware tackles next. Just recently,Hidetaka Miyazaki spoke on future FromSoftware collaborations after George R.R. Martin, confirming the studio would be open to such possibilities. One thing is for sure: after the two-year wait forShadow of the Erdtree, moreElden RingDLC is unlikely, with the development of a new game being a much more likely scenario.
