Elden Ringis the latest video game developed by FromSoftware following the popularDark Soulstrilogy and the gameBloodborne. Despite the game having a generally grim atmosphere, players have found many ways to enjoyElden Ringin a more lively manner.
Players use a variety of emotes, poses, and the like to interact with the setting and characters ofElden Ringto enjoy the game’s world. For example, some players will pose their Tarnished characters next to NPCs or even while they’re fighting with enemies and bosses in the game. One player did something similar by posting a more humorous picture of their player character with the boss Rennala.

The Reddit user SmoothKiminal posted a photo they took of their character standing next toRennala, Queen of the Full Moon in her chambers within the Raya Lucaria Academy. Their character is posing with their hands excitably raised in the air as the photo says that they “just graduated” while standing next to the more somber Rennala. The contrast between the two characters lends the picture to a more humorous tone as if the Tarnished just graduated from the Raya Lucaria Academy.
The player character is even wearing what appears to be the armor set called Queen of the Full Moon set while posing next to Rennala. Players can purchase this armor set from the NPC called Finger Reader Enia afterdefeating Rennala in a boss fight. Rennala is a rather melancholic character with a background to match the eerie tone around her in this scene, which contrasts well with the more excited Tarnished character standing next to her in the photo.
The general reception to the photo has been mainly positive, with most commenters expressing humor at the contrast between the characters. Meanwhile, some thought SmoothKiminal’s image was cute since their character looks like a mini-version of Rennala in the photo with their armor set. After a while, the commenters would go on to discussthe boss fight with Rennalaand whether it was challenging, confusing, fun, or some combination of the three.
Elden Ringplayers sharing photos of their Tarnished characters with other NPCs or bosses are not new to the player community. There has also been plenty ofElden Ringfan art such as amech version of the boss Malenia, humorous game clips, fan animations, and more that have been made in celebration of the game. This humorous photo of a player’s Tarnished “graduating” while standing next to Rennala is the latest addition to the growing list of fan creations made forElden Ring.
