Those looking to dish out some solid damage with a Lightning-based build will definitely want to get their hands on some of the best talismans, weapons, and Ashes of War pertaining to the shocking damage type. One particular Ash of War, Lightning Slash, can cause heavy damage while also imbuing the user’s weapon with the damage type for a short time. Here’s where players can find it inElden Ringto start adding it to their arsenal.

How To Find Lightning Slash Ash Of War In Elden Ring

Finding Lightning Slash is relatively easy so long as players know where to look. The unfortunate thing is that it’s locked in a mid-to-late game area, meaning players will have to travel quite a distance to get to it. It’s possible for those that are just starting the game to find the Ash of War, but it’ll definitely be difficult to make it through all the high-level enemies and prowling baddies to retrieve it.

To get to the Lightning Slash Ash of War, players will first need to gain access to the Altus Plateau. There are two ways to reach the area, by either heading through the Ruin-Strewn Precipice and fighting past the mighty Magma Wyrm Makar boss, or by piecing together the Dectus Medallion. Those that are a bit lower-leveled and still want to grab this Ash of War should definitely go the route of obtaining the medallion andriding the Grand Lift of Dectusup to the expansive zone, as it doesn’t require players to defeat any difficult bosses along the way.

Those that have access to the Outer Wall Battleground Site of Grace can start there. Along this road, just outside of the walls, players will spot a small hill that stretches upward past some spiked barricades. At the top of this small hill is an encampment of soldiers and smack-dab in the middle of the camp is aTeardrop Scarab. What Does The Lightning Slash Ashes Of War Do?

The Lightning Slash can be added to any applicable weapon that can accept an Ash of War and will change a player’s weapon skill to Lightning Slash, a powerful attack that calls down a bolt of lightning and then sees the user swing the weapon downward to create a small AOE explosion. The best part is that the weapon will retain its Lightning-imbued damage modifier for a small period of time after players have successfully used the skill. This gives it a dual purpose as a damage dealer and a weapon buffer.
