While builds that are focused on applying poison or rot to enemies may not be among the very best builds inElden Ring, they can certainly be quite powerful. One way to increase the efficacy of these builds is to equip the Mushroom Crown, a unique helmet that raises attack power by 10% when something nearby suffers from poison or rot. LocatingElden Ring’s Mushroom Crown can be a bit tricky, though, and this guide is here to walk players through the process.
Prior to detailing the location of the Mushroom Crown, it is important to note that this helmet is quite heavy, having a weight of 9.1. While the damage negation and resistances that the Crown provides do justify that weight, players may need to adjust the configuration of their armor to accommodate it. Indeed, fans should ensure that equipping the Mushroom Crown does not push theirequipment load inElden Ringto heavy and limit their mobility.

Elden Ring: Mushroom Crown Location
In order to obtain the Mushroom Crown, players must reach the Lake of Rot, an underground location that is connected to the Ainsel River. One way to access this area is to followRanni’s questline inElden Ring, and it is initiated by speaking with the witch in Ranni’s Rise in the northwest corner of Liurnia. Alternatively, players can simply defeat Radahn and follow the path to the Lake of Rot that is demonstrated in this video:
Upon arriving at the Lake of Rot, players should activate the Lake of Rot Shoreside Site of Grace and prepare to journey into the rot-infested waters. While there are a variety of ways to deal with the Lake of Rot, the simplest is to use the Flask of Crimson Tears to manage health loss while walking across it and then clear the rot after emerging from the water. For full clarity, the Flame Cleanse Me Incantation, aFlask of Wondrous Physickwith the Speckled Hardtear, or Preserving Boluses can all be used to cure rot buildup.
With that strategy established, fans should head toward the Lake of Rot’s southeast corner. A square, stone structure emerges from the corrupted water in this position, and players should walk past it, climb the toppled stone column that is against the nearby cliffside, and jump across to the top of the aforementioned structure. From this position,Elden Ringplayerswill see a corpse with an item atop a pillar inside the structure, and indeed that item is the Mushroom Crown.
