Redmane Castle, found in south Caelid, is one of the few places inElden Ringthat doesn’t appear as intimidating from afar as it does up close. From a distance,Elden Ring’s Redmane Castle is just another fort, but as soon as you reach the Impassable Greatbridge you begin to realize just how dangerous a place it is.

The Impassable Greatbridge is not the only thing standing in your way ofgetting into General Radahn’s namesake castle, though. After the catapults players have to get through a veritable army which includes a flaming ballista, avoid a Troll, traverse a short parkour segment, and deal with groups of hidden bats and harpies – even once you get inside the danger is far from over.
Redmane Castle, Home of the Radahn Festival
Redmane Castle is found about mid-way through Caelid and can be seen from several vantage points throughout the zone (but not from the Swamp of Aeonia). It plays an important role in the history of Caelid and the height of General Radahn’s power. He was a warrior so powerful and so respected that the Radahn Festival is dedicated togiving the ailing demigod a proper death.
Long ago General Radahn and Malenia, Blade of Miquella, fought to a standstill. To sum up a lot of lore in a few words, Malenia nuked Caelid with Scarlet Rot as a final resort and fled, while Radahn and his armies were plagued with what is essentially an ultra-biohazard. Over time General Radahnslowly lost his mind, to the point that all he could do was howl at the stars above, and his devotees wish nothing more than to give him the death he deserves, not this rotten drawn-out fate.

How To Get Into Redmane Castle
From the start of the Impassable Greatbridge you should be pressing the sprint buttonwhile riding Torrent as oftenas you may. There are two catapults that will constantly launch massive flaming boulders at you while you cross - dodge left and ridge to draw their fire away from your path, and keep the camera tilted upwards so you can anticipate where these fireballs will land. Once across the bridge, sprint left up the hill and stay behind one of the road blocks to avoid being hit by the flaming ballista.
Jump over the small army on this hill and sprint to the gates. Take a sharp right at the gate to avoid being smashed by a Troll, and jump onto the top floor of the wooden tower seen just over the cliffside here. Look behind you to see another ledge to drop down onto. Continue on this path, defeating bats along the way, and dismount Torrent at the graveyard found over a jumpable gap. Crouch to avoid being seen by the Harpies, and hug the stairwell to reach a ladder that goes to the top of the Castle. Be prepared to face two lions in the courtyard and a duo boss!
