Dwayne Johnson has won the internet with his hilarious tweet in response to Elmo’s viral cookie feud with Rocco the rock onSesame Street. In an absolutely bizarre conversation, Elmo asked on socia media if anybody has ever seen “a rock eat a cookie,” to which Johnson, a.k.a. The Rock, quickly responded, “this rock devours cookies.”
Earlier this week, an old video from a 2005 episode ofSesame Streetresurfaced where Elmo the loveable red Muppet is seen losing his temper over not being able to eat an oatmeal raisin cookie because his friend Zoe is saving it for her pet Rocco. After the video of the muppet, who is currently hostingThe Not-Too-Late Show With ElmoonHBO Max, went viral, the team managing Elmo’s Twitter account decided to have some fun. Little did they know that the viral feud would grab the attention ofBlack Adamstar Johnson.

For those wondering, Rocco isn’t a rock-inspired puppet, it is literally just a rock. It firstappeared onSesame Streetin 1999 on an episode called “Zoe’s pet rock, Rocco.” Since its introduction, Elmo has not been pleased with its presence around his best friend, and is seen losing his temper around it several times.
At first, Elmo claimed on Twitter that he and Zoe “practiced sharing” and were still best friends. He didn’t, however, want to talk about Rocco. But, it didn’t seem like the feud was over, because immediately after, Elmo shared a petty tweet about a rock eating cookies. The drama exploded when Johnson got involved and wanted to introduce Elmo to cheat meals.
In what seemed like a friendly tweet at first,Johnson went on to issue a warningand asked “Cookie Monster to move it over, cuz I’m coming to Sesame Street to kick ass and eat cookies.” Just when Elmo’s followers thought the drama couldn’t escalate any more, the Cookie Monster Twitter account responded to Johnson, “me say cookie challenge accepted!”
It would be absolutely amazing to watch Johnson come on a segment on HBO Max’sThe Not-Too-Late Show With Elmoand devour some cookies. It doesn’t seem too far-fetched an idea either, as the streamer has just wrapped filming season 2 of the series. Fans are already loving the drama on Twitter, and it wouldn’t hurt to bring it to television.
