Fusion has always been one of the most loved aspects of the entireDragon Ballfranchise. By taking two warriors who are already formidable in their own right, a merger is created that is even stronger than those who made it. Not only that, but the personalities of the participants are merged as well, creating a unique character with their own thoughts, feelings, and aspirations.
Goku and Vegeta have often undergone fusion inDragon Ball, through eitherthe Fusion Dance method or the Potara Earrings. Although the fusions created from either method are equal in terms of strength and fighting ability, their personalities alter greatly, which is one of the reasons many fans have been itching to see Broly go through something similar, not only to see how strong the resulting fusion would be, but also the kind of personality he would have. In this article, let’s go over who Broly could potentially fuse with in the future!
Goku or Vegeta
Broly’s potential fusion with one of his mentors
Since the events of theDragon Ball Super: Brolymovie, Broly has been recruited into the ranks of the Z-Fighters and has been undergoing training under the guidance of the only other Pure-blooded Saiyans he knows;Goku and Vegeta. So, it can be seen why he would prefer to fuse with either of them since the relationship they share is well-known, as well as the fact that all three of them are on a relative scale of strength.

However, a fusion with either of the Saiyans is unlikely, since both Goku and Vegeta don’t like to do it, only really relying on it as a last-ditch attempt to defeat an exceptionally powerful villain. Plus, it wouldn’t make as much thematic sense as Gogeta or Vegito do, since it requires the union of 2 rivals who are on very similar journeys to get stronger. Seeing how a Potara Fusion would likely be the only way for Broly to fuse with anyone at all, he wouldn’t be able to make full use of it since neither Goku nor Vegeta are his rivals, which means the fusion would get no Rival Boost.

The Most Likely Candidate
If the story ever goes in a direction where another fusion is needed aside from Gogeta or Vegito,one between Gohan and Brolycan definitely be seen as an alternative. These 2 characters have many parallels and similarities that make them the perfect pairing to undergo fusion, chief of which may have been hinted at inDragon Ball Super’smost recent manga chapter (Chapter 103: A Legacy Toward The Future).
This chapter showed the very first meeting between Gohan and Broly, where both Saiyans showcased their latest transformations that were on the level of Goku and Vegeta’s strongest. By seeing Gohan reach his Beast form, Broly became entranced with such power, which was instrumental in him finally learning to control his strength and showcase his brand-new, full-powered Super Saiyan transformation.
I feel they’re similar somehow. Gohan and Broly… Indeed, Broly does give off the Beast vibe, doesn’t he… ?
Seeing how Broly’s fixation on Gohan’s power caused him to fully realize his own innate potential, this could be seen as a hint to the two of them having arivalry similar to that of Goku and Vegetain the future, where each of them seeks to get stronger and, in doing so, pushes the other to do so as well. Such a dynamic seems like a natural way of progressing both of their storylines, which would also be perfect for the Rival Boost that would come out of their Potara Fusion!
Broly and Gohan have had similar character arcs since they are both incredibly powerful Saiyans whose true power comes from their unmatched potential. They have also been taken under the wings of Goku and Vegeta and have never undergone a fusion before, making a union between them a perfectly logical next step for both of their arcs!
Future Trunks
Another possible candidate
Though the most unlikely of the bunch, Future Trunks can also be seen as a candidate for Broly to fuse with. Despite him being significantly weaker than the other Saiyans at first glance, he holds a special card up his sleeve with hisSuper Saiyan Rage transformation, which boosts his strength greatly and brings him to a level fairly close to that of Goku and Vegeta, since he was able to destroy Merged Zamasu’s body.

He can also be seen as a part of the ‘new generation’ of Saiyans like Gohan and Broly, who can also act as a sort of rival to the latter in order to push themselves to be even stronger. However, Future Trunks seems to be the least likely candidate for something like this to occur, not only due to the gap in power between him and the others, but also because he now lives in an entirely different timeline and has probably had his fill of fighting!
