Dragon Ball FighterZjust announced its third season, and with it, the first two fighters available in the Season Pass. This announcement was certainly a pleasing one, asdespite adding yet another Gokuto the roster, few would deny that Ultra Instinct Goku makes a great addition to the game. There was a surprise announcement as well for another highly requested character, Kefla. She has both Kale’s power and Caulifla’s fighting instincts and was responsible for pushing Goku back into Ultra Instinct after he lost it, so her inclusion makes perfect sense. What other characters would fit well into the roster, though?
For those unaware,Dragon Ball FighterZhas not only confirmed the addition of Ultra Instinct Goku and Kefla, but at least three other spots which have yet to be filled as well. There are a number of characters which fans have frequently requested, most of which would help to diversify the roster. There is a strong feeling among the community that there are too many Saiyans, and for that matter, too many Gokus and Vegetas specifically. Many are hopeful that the remaining three spots on the next season pass will help to rectify some of these issues.

Toppo
Toppo is the leader of the Pride Troopers, but not the strongest. That honor is held indisputably by Jiren, but Toppo’s strong sense of justice and the way he opposed Goku who was painted as a villain to the other universes makes him a unique character. This would fit well with the rest of the announced characters as well, since it sticks with the theme of the Tournament of Power and could even provide players another character with a transformation mechanic. Perhaps Toppo could begin the fight in his base form but eventually transition into hisGod of Destruction form.
Another route that could work for Toppo would be to model his gameplay loosely after that of Ginyu’s. He calls upon the help of the rest ofthe Ginyu Forceas he fights, and as the leader of the Pride Troopers, Toppo could do the same. This would be a nice touch as other fan favorites like Dyspo and Kahseral are unlikely to ever be made into full playable fighters, but would have a chance to shine in this sort of scenario. Plus, it would help solidify that Toppo is in fact the Pride Troopers' leader and is much better at teamwork than Jiren.

Super Saiyan Blue Evolution Vegeta
Although this pick would fall suit to common in-game problems (too many Gokus and Vegetas), it does seem like a very probable character. Super Saiyan Blue Evolution is Vegeta’s answer to Ultra Instinct and was an amazing moment of the Tournament of Power. Additionally, if Toppo is included, then a Dramatic Finish between Super Saiyan Blue Evolution Vegeta and him would be almost guaranteed. Still, there is not much difference between this andSuper Saiyan Blue Vegeta, so maybe this won’t end up making it in.
Master Roshi (Dragon Ball Super)
A lot ofDragon Ballcharacters found redemption inDragon Ball Super, but few more so than Master Roshi. In fact, he even goes toe to toe with Jiren in the manga, even if only for a moment. Having played an extremely important role inDragon Balland then being relegated mostly to the sidelines byDragon Ball Z, fans of the Turtle Hermit were thrilled to see him return to fighting inDragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power. This character not only has a ton of potential inDragon Ball FighterZ, but is also one of the most highly requested additions to the game. Given his importance in the Tournament of Power, it seems Master Roshi is a likely addition.

Future Mai
Stepping away from the Tournament of Power for a moment, Future Mai would make for an incredibly inventive, albeit unlikely, character inDragon Ball FighterZ. Although she can’t fly and is not very capable of a fighter when compared to the likes of Goku,Zamasu, or Jiren, she is able to tactically lead the resistance against Goku Black with the help of Future Trunk. She even plays a major role in keeping him alive several times. Including this character would diversify the roster by adding yet another non-Saiyan character and would be a nice pay off for an extremely capable yet often overlooked character.
InDragon Ball FighterZ, she could be looselymodeled after Videl. She is similarly underpowered compared to the rest of the cast, but is capable nonetheless. She relies on the help of Gohan as she fights, and the same could work with Future Mai relying on Future Trunks. The fact that Future Trunks is already a playable character doesn’t matter because Gohan was already playable as well. It would be interesting to see Mai taking on a more tactical, long-ranged role inDragon Ball FighterZwhich is as of yet unfilled for the most part.

Honorable Mention - Uub
Although kicking off the Season 3 announcement with Ultra Instinct Goku and Kefla seems to heavily imply that Season 3 will be entirely made up ofDragon Ball Supercharacters, the possibility of anotherDragon Ball,Dragon Ball Z, or evenDragon Ball: GTcharacter shouldn’t be ruled out. Uub, the good reincarnation of Kid Buu, is a character which many loved fromDragon Ball: GT, and his existence has long been requested inDragon Ball Super. Uub would be completely unique as an addition toDragon Ball FighterZand developers would have a lot of room to work with.
Already starringKefla and Ultra Instinct Goku,Dragon Ball FighterZSeason 3will likely be great regardless of who fills the remaining three slots, but these characters in particular seem either highly desired or highly likely. There are certainly other characters that could fit in well here, with a previous poll suggesting some wanted to see characters like the Trio De Danger or even Hercule. If the theme of Season 3 is in fact the Tournament of Power, though, that should inform fans of what to expect.
