One of the big reveals at The Game Awards 2018 wasDragon Age 4from BioWare. It’s been three years since the game’s initial reveal, yet it still has no official release date in sight. There isn’t even an official release window, as BioWare and EA have remained mostly quiet about the game since its announcement. But now a reputable industry insider may have narrowed down theDragon Age 4release date.
According to GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb, citing sources familiar with the project,Dragon Age 4is aiming for a 2023 release date. Fans should take this news with a grain of salt since it isn’t official information, but Grubb’s info is usually accurate. Grubb added that since theDragon Age 4release dateis sometime in 2023, fans should expect marketing for the game to ramp up at some point in 2022.

If EA isn’t planning on really marketingDragon Age 4until 2022 to promote its 2023 release date, then it makes sense why it decided to leave the game off its EA Play Live event. In an effort to keep expectations in check, EA confirmed prior to EA Play Live thatDragon Age 4wouldn’t be at the show, and it’s worth noting that BioWare’s newMass Effectgame was missing in action as well. It seems fans will have to wait until next year before getting another solid look at either title.
That doesn’t mean there won’t be any kind ofDragon Age 4news in the meantime. It’s entirely possible that EA will start marketing the game earlier than expected, or at least release anotherDragon Age 4teaser trailerto tide fans over. Then again, it’s also possible that fans will have to make due withDragon Age 4concept art, which BioWare has been trickling out this past year.
Earlier this year, BioWare released a piece ofDragon Age 4concept art focused on Tevinter, the setting of the new game. The developers also released some new Grey Warden concept art, as well as a piece of art that teased the Antivan Crows organization. TheAntivan Crows inDragon Ageare a group of thieves and assassins, and it seems that they are returning to the franchise withDragon Age 4’s release.
In the meantime, theDragon Age 4release window, if accurate, could give fans an idea of when to expect thenewMass Effectgame. It means that theMass Effect 4release date is likely somewhere in 2025 at the very earliest, and so fans of BioWare’s sci-fi franchise likely have a very long wait ahead of themselves.
