Call of Duty: Warzonehas seen many additions made over the years, though not all have been well received by fans. One of the more divisive additions toCall of Duty: Warzoneis the ziplines, a traversal tool that recently drew the ire of Dr Disrespect.
Dr Disrespect had a rough time in his most recentCall of Duty: Warzonestream, suffering from stream snipers in multiple matches and losing due to their distraction. While he ultimatelyblamed the Season 2 updatefor the prevalence of stream snipers, he was also critical of a mechanic that has been in the game for some time now: ziplines. Used to quickly traverse to the top of rooftops, the Doc believes that the mechanic only benefits those that are already positioned on the roof.

Ziplines made their debut inCall of Duty: Warzone’s fifth season, and their entire purpose is to give players an alternate way to reach the top of a building. With the only ways to get on top of a roof prior to the addition of ziplines being to parachute in or push up a lengthy set of stairs, they were seen as a positive when they first made their appearance in the game. However, Dr Disrespect recently took the time to focus on an inherent problem with the zipline system.
In a since-deleted clip, Dr Disrespect referred to theCall of Duty: Warzonefeatureas “childish” in its design, pointing to the lengthy animation that occurs after reaching the top as being unfair and unnecessary. Arguing that the extra animation gives the roof camper the advantage and allows them to “not get threatened” by players that push, the Doc’s argument is a fair one, and a larger argument can be made that there should be no extra animation needed once players reach the top of Verdansk’s ziplines.
With players unable to cancel the zipline animation and jump off the roof, either, the design ensures that players hiding on top of buildings can kill unsuspecting zipline users with ease. While the Two Time did not share any suggestions for improvements like he has previously donewith the Gulag, his teammate ZLaner mentioned a possible change. Suggesting that players be able to hipfire when reaching the zipline’s peak, the potential change could seeCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers feeling like they at least have a chance to take down a well-prepared camper.
With Dr Disrespect’s previous call for changeduring the MAC-10 metalikely having a role to play in the gun’s fall from grace, it will be interesting to see if this criticism is heard as well. Regardless,Call of Duty: Warzone’s ziplines currently seem to do the exact opposite of what they are meant to.
