One of the most mysterious of these quests takes place on the island ofFort Joy in Divinity: Original Sin 2’s first Act. Threads of a Curse takes players on a search for the enchanted outfit of a long-dead pirate, a journey that will lead them all across Fort Joy.

Beginning Threads of a Curse in Divinity: Original Sin 2

The Threads of a Cursequest inDivinity: Original Sin 2begins about halfway through Act 1. As such, it’s recommended for players to be at least level 4 before attempting it. The quest will first be available after the player’s initial escape from the confines of Fort Joy itself. It begins a little distance from the sewer exit from the fort, on the south beach around X: 363, Y: 79.

Players will find ashipwreck on Fort Joy’s beach, and an Odd Skeletal Arm sticking out of the ground. The arm can be extracted with a Finesse or Strength Persuasion check. Throwing the arm onto the ground will cause it to always point in the same direction. By following it, players will find their way to a cursed chest at X: 535, Y: 23.

Collecting the Captain’s Armor in Divinity: Original Sin 2

Before players interact with the cursed chest, they’ll want to collect the Soul Jar of Captain Sech Zapor, which can be found in the Vault of Braccus Rex during the course ofOriginal Sin 2’s main story. Once players have the Soul Jar, they should remove the curse on the chest by using the Bless spell. This will cause Captain Sech Zapor to spawn.

Players can trade the Soul Jar for the Captain’s Charismatic Coat, the first of the armor set which is the goal of Threads of a Curse. Players will also find a note in the chest, which contains the password to a secret door. The door can be found in a cave to the northeast of the beach with the bound dragon. Inside players will find more pirates, along with the Captain’s Jaunty Hat.

The final piece of the armor set is found near the abandoned camp, in the northeast of the island. At X: 608, Y: 239, players will find a buried Tenebrium chest. If they didn’t fight Captain Zapor in the previous encounter, he will reappear and attack here. All players need to do is finish him off andlockpick the chestto retrieve Captain’s Dexterous Heels, and complete the Threads of a Curse quest.
