DLC characters inDisgaea 6are often also very useful for early game, as they can be unlocked straight away and often have access to very powerful classes and play styles that would typically take a longer time to unlock. Most can be unlocked through either theDisgaea 6Season Pass or by purchasing them individually for $3.99. This article will give an insight into the bestDisgaea 6DLC characters, and will hopefully come as a help to players wondering if this new ensemble cast of characters is worth it!
10Valvatorez
Valvatorez is considered by many players as one of the very best DLC characters available inDisgaea 6. Valvatorez is originally fromDisgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten, and he is a strong character that can slot well into several teams, though he does need some support from other characters. Thankfully, this is usually easy to achieve.
Valvatorez is a valuable character to have for many reasons. One of these reasons is thanks to his incredibly useful Evilities, including his unique Evility, Absorption, in which he absorbs a certain amount of stats from each unit he kills without limit. His other Evilities also help with an XP boost and a juice shop boost that will make stat farming far easier for players. Even his attack/defense buff can be easily mitigated depending on his weapon, and he scales really well, making him one of the strongest characters in the entire game. He does have his downsides, of course - he performs poorly one-on-one with bosses and doesn’t have a great unique attack - but they aren’t enough to negate his upsides.

9PolPol
PolPol can be unlocked through the freeHololiveCollaboration Set DLC. Based on popular VTuber Omaru Polka, she is a very valuable character to have in the early game in particular. She can be unlocked instantly, and as a Witch, she’s incredibly powerful. She can face off against really any element, she has great abilities, and again - she can be played from very early on at a very high level.
Her buffs as a Witchallow her the ability to access any elemental magic type and give her zero elemental weaknesses against enemies, which in turn allows her access to a truly massive array of spells. As well as this, her unique Special attacks areincrediblystrong. Several of them are multiple target attacks that turn PolPol into an absolute monster, allowing her to wipe out tons of enemies in a flash thanks to how intensely powerful they are. Thanks to her build, she’ll be a great choice throughout the entire game, even into the late game. Plus, she can fit in tons of teams. Though she doesn’t have great Evilities, she’s so ridiculously strong it likely won’t matter regardless.

8Fuka
Fuka is a familiar facefromDisgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten. She has a pretty good range as a character; she’s quite tanky, and she has access to useful Evilities and Special attacks that make her a versatile fighter that can fit anywhere. Her weapon also provides the most ATK, making her a good, strong attacker.
Her unique Evility is solidly good. It gives her a nice ATK stat boost and reduces attack from enemies; this suits her well as both a tanky character and a character that shines when she isn’t on the front lines. Her Specials are much better; she has both AOE attacks and single-target attacks, both allowing her to kill enemies very easily. This even includes bosses, which other DLC characters like Valvatorez struggle with. Overall, Fuka is a very solid character that players can get a ton of use out of.

7Desco
Desco is another familiar face fromDisgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten. Desco is Fuka’s sister, and she works well as a very useful support character, though she can also hold her own when it comes to strength - just like her sister, she uses an Axe, providing the most ATK of all the weapons in the game.

Desco works well thanks to her AOE unique attacks, which are slightly more powerful than most AOE attacks tend to be (though this does come at the cost of a lower range, which isn’t too big of an issue). She’s also a great support thanks to her unique Evility, which buffs all allies around herandstacks. She has decent range overall, and while she might not be the most powerful character when it comes to DLC characters, she’s definitely valuable to have on one’s team. Plus, she can work on several teams, which is always useful.
6Mao
Originallythe protagonist ofDisgaea 3: Absence of Justice, Mao is a very solid DLC unit inDisgaea 6. He’s great at focusing on single enemies, which makes him great against bosses and easy to build teams around. He’s also a very talented character, with plenty of weapon masteries and good Evilities and Skills that make him both useful and versatile, though he’s especially good at going up against bosses.
Firstly, when it comes to weapons, Mao is another Axe user, though he’s so versatile fans wouldn’t have to use Axes if you didn’t want to - Swords or Staves could also be good for him. Mao’s Special attacks are also really useful, as they allow for a combination of both range and the buffs that come from using weapons like Axes. Plus, no matter how far back you put him, he’s still able to deal very good damage, making him easy to place in teams where he might not be the main damage-dealer. The only issue is that his unique Evility isn’t particularly good - he’s outclassed by many other characters, including DLCandbase game characters. That doesn’t make his other strengths any less useful, though.

5Rozalin
Rozalin is a free DLC character received with the base game copy ofDisgaea 6. Originally fromDisgaea 2: Cursed Memories, her status as one ofDisgaea 6’s best-performing support characters is only helped by the fact that she’s free and easy to access from the beginning of the game, making gameplay much easier with her.
In many ways, Rozalin is a fairly straightforward character when it comes to things like strengths and teambuilding. Rozalin is great at buffing male allies, which is something that should definitely be taken advantage of; her unique Evility reflects this in particular. She’s primarily a gun user, as her skills depend on her using a gun to be properly effective. Rozalin’s Specials are also pretty good, allowing her decent range as well as AOE. Overall, she’s pretty much made to buff one’s team, especially male characters in particular, so she’ll fit anywhere they need her to.

4Torte
Torte is another feature of theHololiveCollaboration Set DLC, and she’s a very good character inDisgaea 6. Based on VTuber Shiranui Flare, she benefits from a ton of different things - her class, her weapon choices, and her unique skills and Evility are all very good, and when combined, they make her a powerhouse to watch out for. Plus, she’s a free character - what more could players want?
Firstly, Torte’s class as a Psychic creates a strong basis for the rest of her to go off. Psychics are immensely powerful inDisgaea 6, and when paired with her weapon masteries of Guns and Staves, she also has the range to support her own power. As well as this, her unique Specials and Evility allow her to hone in on being one of the more aggressively strong characters in the game. With essentially no support capabilities, players likely will need to build a team around her; however, this plays off thanks to how immensely powerful she is in both AOE attacks and one-on-one attacks. She’s great against bosses and groups, so she’s also very versatile.

3Asagi
Of all theDisgaea 6DLC characters (and excluding theHololiveVTubers), Asagi is the only character who isn’ttechnicallysolely froma previous title in theDisgaeaseries. She’s appeared in plenty of games outside theDisgaeaseries, but many players might know her fromDisgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten. She was strong in that game, and she’s strong in this one, too.
RELATED:Disgaea 6: Best Tips To Level Up Fast
Asagi is anotherDisgaea 6character whose strengths lie almost entirely in being amazing in one-on-one or single-target battles, meaning that she’s also great for bosses. She’s intensely powerful, and with very solid Specials and a good Evility, her role in the game as a boss-killer is cemented. Asagi is also one of the few characters inDisgaea 6to have access to an S-rank weapon mastery, which makes her a very interesting novelty in that regard.Asagidoeshave a few issues- she has a very specific slot that she has to fit into due to her Specials and Evility, and her gameplay doesn’t really become relevant until late game. That being said, she’s a character most players will be thankful to have.
2Piyori
Just like Asagi, Piyori is likely a familiar face for players who have been following theDisgaeaseries over multiple games. She has appeared in every Disgaea game, though usually only as an NPC. However, in theDisgaea 6DLC, Piyori finally gets her opportunity to shine - and it’s an opportunity she makes full use of.
Piyori is abit of a niche characteras she has a specific role that she is best at filling (again, just like Asagi, she’s a very good single-target fighter who excels at destroying bosses). However, she has a lot of versatility in how she can be played. Her weapon masteries allow players to choose how to play her - they can settle for a Sword for increased ATK, or they can choose to play with a Gun to take advantage of further range. Piyori also has multiple very good Specials and, surprisingly, more than one Evility, both of which are also very useful. What Piyori has that Asagi doesn’t is the ability to fit into multiple roles - while she absolutely shines her brightest against bosses and single-target enemies, she can really fit anywhere.

1Adell
As the protagonist ofDisgaea 2: Cursed Memories, Adell will be a familiar face for any long-timeDisgaeafans. InDisgaea 6, he’s also by far one of the most powerful characters in the game. What works about Adell is the fact that he can also be paired with other incredibly strong characters to become a complete monster. Plus, he works well even in the early game, which pretty much solidifies him as a must-have.
Just like Asagi, Adell is another rare S-rank achieving character when it comes to weapon masteries. Adell S-ranks in Fists, and it makes his build even more powerful. When paired with his Evility and his Specials, Adell’s strength becomes a bit ridiculous; he gains both AOE damage potential and single-damage potential, andhe has the opportunity to do insane damage-doubling moves from just behind the front line. While this makes him very good against bosses, he can fit absolutely anywhere. He’s so strong that pretty much any enemy he faces simply will not be able to match up to him. On top of all of this, Adell also benefits from Rozalin’s Evility, making it fairly easy to build teams solely around buffing his power.

Disgaea 6is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch.
