Week two of The Dawning came this week as well as the holiday vacation that many video game studios like Bungie are now enjoying. While development may be taking a short hiatus,Destiny 2continues moving forward withthe last of the three Psion Flayersarriving in the Sundial activity. Early in January, the Legendary version of the Sundial will be arriving, giving players an opportunity to earn a new triumph and the Devil’s Ruin exotic quest will also be added to the game as well.

Even with plenty of new content arriving almost on a weekly basis, Season of Dawn is quickly turning into one of the buggiest seasons ever. In addition to ritual weapon progress getting bugged and the Telesto also breaking once more, one of the major issues is related to the European Dead Zone Obelisk. As an important part of the current season, players are typically unable to interact with it without performing some sort of workaround. While very inconvenient, the problem is going to persist for a few more weeks asBungie won’t be able to fix ituntil after the holidays in January.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can find Xur back inside the Winding Cove zone of the EDZ.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor

Keep in mind thatthe Armor 2.0 updatehas caused Xur’s items each week to mirror the rolls players get from pulling these items from their own Collections. As it stands, players should likely hold on to their shards if they already own the following items. Players can use the Fated Engram to pull something a little different if nothing in his inventory is appealing this week, including newer exotic items.

Here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:

The Stag - Warlock helm

The skeletal looking helm called The Stag is back in stock this week, which remains a solid, if unexciting support tool for Warlocks. Dearly Departed is the intrinsic perk that grants Rift energy when the wearer is critically wounded. In addition it drops a healing rift for the rest of the team when the wearer dies.

Ultimately, this exotic isn’t immensely useful for solo players as the main trait basically triggers after death. Therefore, this is a situational exotic that is strong in team based modes. Still, there are muchbetter exotic Warlock itemsthat should be prioritized over this one.

Void Enhanced. Stat Values:

Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves - Hunter gauntlets

This week, Hunters have access to the Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves, gauntlets that favor sidearms. Its exotic perk is calledSpring-Loaded Mounting which boosts Sidearms efficiency especially when the user is wounded.

Even though Sidearmsgot a damage boost in Shadowkeepand have become a focus during the Season of Dawn, they’re a weapon type that still isn’t at the top of the meta. Not only that, the bonus from this item only activates when the player is in the danger red portion of their health and disables when it recharges back into the white. Needless to say, there are better options for hunters out there, meaning players can safely skip this.

Mk. 44 Stand Asides - Titan leg armor

Originally introduced inside of Curse of Osiris, the Mk. 44 Stand Asides are for Titans who like to run. Seriously, Watch Out is the armor perk on this exotic gear and with it, players get an overshield while sprinting with Seismic Strike, Hammer Strike, or Shield Bash equipped. In addition, hits with these abilities recharge a portion of the player’s melee energy.

The value of these boots are based entirely on play style. They’re certainly not the best option out there, but could certainly be useful under the right circumstances.

Exotic Weapon

The very regal looking Fighting Lion grenade launcher is up for grabs this weekend. Its intrinsic perk is called Delayed Gratification, allowing players to hold the trigger and then release it to detonate the grenade. The grenades can also bounce off surfaces, allowing for some very tricky shots. Its trait is Thin the Herd which makes direct hits do more damage to shields, while rapid kills to grenade damaged enemies refill the magazine. Finally, kills with this weapon always drop primary ammo.

The biggest thing this weapon has going for it is that it doesn’t take up a heavy slot like most Grenade launchers. Instead it sits in the energy slot, freeing up players to continue using a machine gun or other heavy grenade launcher as needed. This is also a weapon that likely won’t be for everyone as its delayed detonation requires a bit of skill to fully master. However, for those who can get the hang of it, the gun can be very rewarding and fun to use. It’s also great for certainquests like The Wendigo or the Mountaintop.
