Summary
Alongside the Into The Light experience, Bungie released Update 7.3.6 forDestiny 2, a substantial patch that not only makes adjustments and fixes across the game, but adds in a number of highly requested features as well. So far, April 9 has proven to be a big day forDestiny 2fans as the studio finally pulled the curtain back on The Final Shape. Bungie revealed a ton of new details for the expansion, as well as showcasing the newPrismatic subclass forDestiny 2, one that essentially lets players customize their class by mixing both Darkness and Light abilities.
Today’sDestiny 2reset also launched the highly anticipated Into the Light, a major experience that adds tons of new content for players to chase. In addition to the return of exotic missions The Whisper and Zero Hour, also making Whisper of the Worm and Outbreak Perfected craftable, Into The Light adds the Hall of Champions social space for gathering, collecting bounties, and unlocking pieces of the Brave Arsenal while tackling the new Horde mode called Onslaught. Players may also notice that some parts of the game may look or feel a little different, which is due to Update 7.3.6 launching as well.

In advance of theDestiny 2Weekly Reset, Bungie posted the complete patch notes for Update 7.3.6. The update itself is fairly large, making plenty of changes and tweaks to activities like the Crucible. While fixing a variety of bugs, the Competitive Playlist saw a number of tweaks, including a unified ruleset for both Collision and Clash, where games span 10 minutes in total, respawn timers are set to 7 seconds with revives enabled, and both Special and Heavy ammo crates on a set schedule. Trials of Osiris are now more rewarding, as post-game weapon drops will be the weekly weapon.
TheDestiny 2Fireteam Finderhas also received substantial changes to improve the notifications for applications and join requests, specifically for players who may not own that particular piece of content. Listing settings and filters have been improved to help create faster listings, the Banner under the Roster screen has been reduced in size, as well as a bunch of other issues being addressed.
However, for many players, the biggest change listed in the patch notes are for the various tweaks to perks, exotics, and weapon archetypes. For example, Pulse Rifles in general have seen changes across all four types, with Rapid-Fire, Lightweight, Adaptive, and Aggressive all getting a boost. Sunshot, Polaris Lance, One Thousand Voices, and Leviathan’s Breath have all had their descriptions updated to include specific subclass verbs for better clarity, while Whisper of the Worm, One Thousand Voices, Quicksilver Storm, The Last Word, and FOrerunner have all received general buffs.
Some of the bigger quality of life tweaks that are not listed in the patch notes are the long-awaited chance forDestiny 2players to re-customize their character’s appearance. Players who want to can also now change their Bungie name, Strand Fragments are cheaper to obtain, text chat is enabled by default, and Bungie has confirmed that the much maligned New Light experience, the onboarding missions for new players, is now more approachable.
