The second week ofDestiny 2’s Season 22 ushered in some answers for players, namely, how to get those Arcana cards that have been spotted throughout the world since the season began. Though Guardians have found some of the cards quickly enough, and a few didn’t require any other conditions be met, many were inaccessible unless players matched a specific elemental “attunement.” Now, as the Season 22 narrative moves forward, players can finally become attuned to an element of their choice and start hunting cards. But, of course, there’s a catch.

In the expansive world ofDestiny 2,Bungieis constantly introducing innovative new mechanics to keep players engaged. The Season of the Witch is no exception, introducing the Deck of Whispers and the game’s first deckbuilding mechanic. Throughout the season, players can obtain new cards and customize their own unique deck of situational buffs. Accompanying these Season 22 features are the new Savathun’s Spire and Altars of Summoning activities, both holding secrets that can help Guardians earn additional cards and seasonal rewards, like thesecret chests in Savathun’s Spire.

Understanding the Deck of Whispers

The Deck of Whispers isn’t just your average collection of cards. It is a gateway to a set of unique buffs beneficial for Guardians and their teams. Players primarily dive into seasonal tasks to unlock these game-changing bonuses, gather Opaque Cards, and transform them intoMajor or Minor Arcana cardsat the Lectern of Divination. That said, some cards cannot be received as a reward via activities. Certain cards must be found hidden away in areas of the game, and among those are even more fickle cards demanding an attunement with a specific element.

How to Become Attuned to an Element

The second week of the season greeted players with the unveiling of elemental attunement. Once attuned, players can interact with hidden Arcana cards coinciding with the same element. Guardians can only attune with one element at a time, but opportunities to attune with additional elements will appear throughout the season. The path to attunement is a part of the seasonal quest to empower Eris Morn to defeat thepowerful Hive god of war.

Where to Find Attuned and Opaque Cards

The seasonal quest and activity rewards aren’t the only way to get new Arcana cards. However, these hidden options have a few extra hoops to jump through. Even after attuning to an element, Guardians will still have to seek out these sneaky rewards, and any one player won’t be able to earn them all until later in the season. Still, with the itch of curiosity and the promise of rewards, players will undoubtedly find themselves delving into Savathun’s Spire and the Altars of Summoning in pursuit of these cards. As a bonus, there are even a couple of cards that do not require any specific elemental attunement, and one is right in the backyard of the H.E.L.M.

With Season 22,Bungie has already proven that it’s taking direct inspiration from Savathunherself, adding new collectibles weekly, swapping secret chest locations, and hiding Arcana cards that players can only unlock via a particular set of conditions. To that end, there’s always the chance more Attuned cards will appear as Season 22 continues.
