8Generalist Shell
Born from the Traveler, built of machinery and Light, the Ghost is your companion and faithful guide.Although there may not be anything inherently special about the Generalist Shell, it’s one of the reasons why it is one of the best. This Ghost Shell doesn’t need a fancy hat, or a funny car to make it unique. Instead, the Generalist Shell has nostalgia value on its side, for this is going to be the first Ghost Shell of many new Guardians that began their campaignafter the Red War had ended.
The Generalist Shell is the common Ghost Shell that every player will start the game with. It’s an iconic design, andDestiny 2fans will recognize this Ghost Shell and its longevity as the staple of Ghost Shells, and the first form of an eternal Little Light friend.
7Almost Mighty Shell
For Ghosts who have delusions of grandeur.Nothing seemed more terrifying toDestiny 2players than the Almighty, a Cabal ship that traveled solar systems to drain and eat Stars to collapse a solar system in total darkness. The Almighty was a grave threat to the solar system and the Last City of Earth, so it would only make sense that a Ghostwould want to feel as powerfulas this once grand Cabal ship.
Players can find the Almost Mighty Shell in the Eververse Store for Silver. It features a funny design and a play on the word ‘Almighty’. The design of the Ghost Shell has two long wooden rulers poorly taped onto the top and bottom of the shell, making it one of the longest and wackiest Ghost Shells that is completely out of place.
6Exotech Shell
For Ghosts who look toward the future.The Exotech Shell is a relatively new Ghost Shell that was introduced duringDestiny 2’s Season 19, Season of the Seraph. It has a fairly unique design from the rest, and instead of featuring a Ghost Shell in a funny costume, or a hat, it instead has a nice layer of armored plating that acts as a Ghost Shell for once.

Players that use the Exotech Shell might find its design intricate and rewarding, and enjoy the technical aspect of the Shell from the details of armored plating and wires. The ears of the Shell also make it more interesting. Perhaps those that use the Exotech Shell simply enjoy the fashion side ofDestiny 2or the logic behind having an armored Ghost.
5Tyrant Shell
For Ghosts who aspire to a higher form of intelligence.The Tyrant Shell is a true menace and a grand contrast to other shells. Whereasmost Ghost Shells are cuteand fun, the Tyrant Shell doesn’t hide its sinister meaning. This Ghost Shell seems directly inspired by the Darkness and The Witness’ Pyramid Ships that have been seeking the Traveler across the universe for eons.
To wield the Tyrant Shell may prove that the Guardian in question is darker than one realizes. If there’s a member on the Fireteam that is using the Tyrant Shell, it’s best to keep one eye on the enemies, and one eye on them, as who knows if and when the Darkness will sway them and their Darkness Ghost Shell.
4Lampion Shell
For Ghosts who wish for an ever-brighter future.Introduced in Season 9, players could pick up the Lampion Shell from Eververse. The Lampion Shell easily brightens the room when it’s at its darkest, and players can expect the Guardian that wields the Lampion Shell to have a warm presence and a desire to help fellow Guardians.
Its warm orange glow and lamp design prove that hope still lies within the Light, and even when the Darkness and The Witness seems to have taken all from the Last City, there will always be that one Guardian and Ghost Shell there witha desire to help. The Lampion Shell is a cute addition toDestiny 2and a warm one at that.
3Spelunking Shell
For Ghosts who brave the depths.Despite being titled as a spelunker, the Spelunking Ghost Shell can be used as anything, and that’s what makes it so great. The Spelunking Shell can unlock the Guardians’ inner expression for their love of the archaeologist Indiana Jones, or perhaps just their adoration of the Wild West and cowboys.

With the Spelunking Shell equipped, players have free reign on the appearance side of things to change the Ghost Shell’s hat color. This means that players can truly express themselves with any color. A brown leather, a vibrant pink,or even something more wild.
2Clicker Shell
For Ghosts with an unknown lifeform taking control.Although the Clicker Ghost Shell can only be purchased for Silver in the Eververse Store, it’s worth mentioning as one of the best Ghost Shells out there. Not only is it a perfect collaboration for PlayStation fans and those that adoreThe Last of Usand the terrors of the fungal Clicker enemy, but it has a very cool effect that is exclusive to this Ghost Shell alone.
When players pull out the fungal-infested Ghost Shell, not only are they greeted with an invasive storm of spores, and an infected blue Ghost eye that has turned a deep orange, but they will hear the Ghost Shell chatter like a Clicker enemy fromThe Last of Us. It’s great attention to detail that will have players traumatized over their fights with Clickers from Naughty Dog’spost-apocalyptic game.
1Ghoyster Shell
For the Ghost on the half shell.One of the funniest Ghost Shells to grace the hands of players, the Ghoyster Shell usually makes an appearance during the Solstice events that take place around Summertime inDestiny 2. The beauty of this Ghost Shell doesn’t just come from it’s the tropical oyster shell that can be customized with any color but from the ridiculous eyes.
The Ghoyster Shell features a wacky set of googly eyes that will jiggle around when the Ghost Shell is moved. This can make for some comedic moments in pretty intensiveDestiny 2cutscenes, especially Lightfall. The Ghoyster Shell is one of the more unique and fun Shells for players to mess around with.
